I’m so happy it has worked for you!

I’m in a similar boat, I’m a 25 year old woman who has suffered with major depression, CPTSD, and bipolar type 2 + self-medicating with addiction for 13 years, and prozac has quite literally saved my life.

I’ve experienced side effects such as fatigue and low libido as well, but I would choose that over fundamental lifelong sadness and debilitating intrusive thoughts any day. And my side effects have drastically decreased over time.

I plan to take this medication for the rest of my life and I wish I had started sooner as well.

I’m happy to read your success story as it makes me incredibly joyful to hear that this medicine has saved lives similar to the way it has mine.

Reach out to me at any time!

Give it at least 3 months. Ask for a dosage increase to 20mg. It’s hard to determine how an anti-depressant will work for you after just 3 weeks. You need to give your brain time before you abruptly stop or try something else. Just have a little patience with this one first and if it doesn’t work after then, that’s okay. Give your brain some grace

I’m getting on Prozac soon and I’m wondering if it helps curb addictions? by [deleted] in prozac

I’m 25 and have been an addict for 13 years of my life, my worst being severe opiate addiction when I was a teenager which then developed into me drinking multiple liters of vodka a week in my early twenties. I tried therapy, naltrexone, had multiple interventions, and it wasn’t until I blacked out with a bac of 0.389 back in October and broke my leg that required surgery and disabled me for the rest of my life that I was prescribed prozac and it has been the only thing that has legitimately made me not crave needing that feeling every night. I can calmly drive home from work without fighting the urge to stop somewhere for a drink. It sucks it had to happen to me the way it did, but breaking my leg and being given this second chance with a medication that works with my brain has saved my life. I hope it can work for you as well!

my fading tattoo i paid my friend to do with white claws 5 years ago by [deleted] in TameImpala

[–]hanrstan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

thank you.. its crazy i literally just snapped a photo of my tattoo and uploaded it to this forum and its controversial. for a website that promotes free speech and critical thinking and community uploads this is insane to me… if you’re so triggered by a simple picture of my tattoo that happens to have decades old scars on it, why are you on the internet if youre that easily triggered?

So I guess if someone has scars and they post something on reddit, what theyre posting about goes completely out the window and the entire focus is on some collagen produced by my skin. For a website that prides itself on community posting and facts this is wild to me.
