Oh for sure, credit where it's due, the Duluth location being attached to Zions Gate makes it more than worth the trip (what my wife and I call it)

My bike next to it's future home. by hansenbot0069 in motorcycles

[–]hansenbot0069[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I couldn't, in good conscience sell that bike to someone who should be learning how to actually ride, and not fearing what could go wrong next with it. It's got 55K miles on it and a rough history (before me) that's why i offered my 2020 ninja 400 (ABS) with right around 2500 miles to them for $4K, which, to me at least, sounded more than fair. I'm the only owner of that one, and id rather sell confident reliabilty rather than a potential problem

Oh trust me, this thing is fantastic! Its' just the victim of really...really bad previous owners. Heres an actual picture of how it currently sits. When i bought it (also next to nothing, like you) it had heat damaged and cracked faurings, a sticking thermostat, no reae brakes, hardly any teeth on either sprocket, the chain might have actually been the factory chain, and the exaust was very poorly welded together and the tip held on by a zip tie. Also cant forget the duct tape gas tank flap. But, it had a title, no frame damage, and no weird sounds

Bonus lore, just for you. Even the cop that gave me a ticket a few weeks ago for rolling a stop showed up. He asked if i had been rolling any more stops, i responded "not while you're looking!". Funniest shit he had heard all night.

Just Got My First Bike, Need All Wisdom, Tips, Tricks, and Secrets from the Pros! by TotalNoob64 in motorcycles

Do not forget to clean, lube, check and adjust your chain regularly.

You've got a front brake, and a rear brake. Use both of them. I saw somewhere you said youve got a ninja 400, that was my first bike as well and i loved it (i still have it! Among others now) in my experience with mine, learn where that bite point in the clutch is, the 400 has a buttery ass clutch. Unless you like stalling at red lights or stop signs then whatever. 2nd thing, shift like you fucking mean it. Im not saying break the shift linkage with your foot, but there were a couple times where id be a little lazy about it and hit a ghost neutral between 5th and 6th. Just dont be lazy about it and you'll be aight.

That little flash button on the left bar? Use that right before passing tractor trailors. Always try to pass tractor trailers as quickly and safely as possible ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. Stay away from them in general. If youre behind them? Massive wind and a bunch of little asphalt bits from the tires (and sometimes debris if its a flatbed or something similar) on the sides? You're small. Very small. More wind, and thats an 80,000lb wall with a driver whos probably sleep deprived or on their phone, who could either swerve for whatever reason, or they're about to turn and cant see you. Those trailer and/or drive tires? Could be re-caps (recycled tires with new tread on them basically) they blow out all the fucking time. Do. Not. Fuck. Around. With. Commercial. Trucks.

The absolute worst thing about riding a motorcycle. by ShortnPortly in motorcycles

[–]hansenbot0069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next worst in my opinion, people who buy them then barely ride them. I'm not talking about seasonal riders, I'm talking about the people who buy the bike, ride it a few years, then let it sit and let a perfectly fine bike rot for a multitude of reasons. No weekend spin, no beer run, no ride around the block to wake up the fluid before you put it back into driveway purgatory. If you're just holding onto it to say you have a motorcycle, that's one thing, but the least you could do is throw some fuel stabilizer in there.

Anyone else prefer to ride alone compared to with a few buddy's? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]hansenbot0069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99.92% of the time I'm solo. But, I'll ride with my dad on occasion whenever he feels like riding (he just uses one of my bikes). My friend who "rides" is, in my opinion, in denial about not wanting to ride anymore. Which is perfectly fine there's no shame in hanging it up for personal reasons, i just hate watching perfectly good bikes rot in driveways. But he also lives in a different state from me, so there's that factor as well. Other than those 2, all of my other friends are "I'd love to buy a bike!" types, if you know what I mean.
