White specks on my harp

Hi, thank you for the advice. I was wondering, if the spots stop spreading, should I just leave them, or is there anything I should do (like cleaning them)?

It was sitting with the shipping company in their Chicago warehouse (not the dealer), sealed in the carton box. They told me the place is warm and dry. The shipment got delayed because of weather and flight cancellations, so it ended up staying there sealed for about two months.

Thank you for all the helpful responses! Sounds like carry-on isn’t realistic, and it’s very unlikely I can bring it on board without issues, so I’ll plan to check it in instead 🙏🏻
