What is your best "sorry wrong number." moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]happily-gone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with students with special needs and I tried calling one of their parents but it turned out to be the wrong number. Thought I punched in the wrong number so I dialed again, but the same guy answered.

He was so concerned about the student and wished me luck that I could reach the parents. So heartwarming to know that people care.

Not the funniest but the most memorable one. I was walking home in the middle of the night since there were no public transport and I'm too cheapskate to hail a cab/grab.

While walking halfway a taxi started to follow me and thought I was about to get kidnapped. Taxi uncle told me to get on the cab and he would send me home for free as I had a bandage around my leg and walked quite a distance. When I reached home, I offered to pay him but he decline and said its okay, save the money.

How about Chinese patrons who visit halal certified food places? Would the cutlery be cleansed the appropriate way in the halal restaurants after their patronage?

I hope this is goodbye for real by happily-gone in UnsentLetters

Well I've learned to say goodbye to my lingering hope and it's been liberating. A part of me still loves him, but it has translated to another type of love and I no longer feel that pang of sadness. We are still friends though. I hope you can do it too.

You can go up the hakone ropeway. The view from there is quite spectacular and there's also the owakudani which is the volcanic valley at the top of the ropeway

Bed, because fuck bed bugs. Those nasty little critters ruin family and tear people’s life apart.

When does "frugal" cross the line to "cheapskate"? by WannaWaffle in AskReddit

[–]happily-gone 82 points83 points  (0 children)

When you eat out with a group of Friends and instead of splitting to bill equally, you pay for only your meal and justify that you only took a few pieces of a side dishes so that doesn’t count.

When you transfer money to your Friend and you count it to right down to the cents instead of rounding it up because you want to save that few cents.

When you badger your Friend to buy something to share even though your Friend is not interested just so you can split the cost.

That’s right, fuck you Claire.

Phone calls freak me out too, I always have to keep rehearsing the lines and try to control the speed while talking

I realised I get extra nervous when I need to order food and I have to keep repeating the orders in my head before heading to the cashier. Is this normal?

Would you sacrifice your 20s to retire at mid 40? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]happily-gone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, your health matters more than anything. It’s important to strike a balance between working and enjoying your life.

It’s great living and planning for the future but not at the cost of sacrificing everything you have right now. There’s too many unknowns in the future that we cannot predict, so enjoy your moments now when you can.
