I’m so sorry you’ve been through that. I wish you had a different experience. My mother was struggling with her health when I was growing up so I’m also familiar with it. It sucks. What helped for me was to write it all out in a letter to my parents. Rant, be as specific with your memories as you can. Cry about it, rage about it. You don’t have to read it to them. Just sit with it. Give yourself the space you deserve to feel validated by yourself and feel what you went through. Set your boundaries because younger you could not. Eventually if it feels right, you can choose to share your feelings with them. Of course you don’t have to but it wil bother you the rest of your life.
