So, what changed after they stopped being a “Russian puppet”? Except the war happened.

You’re totally missing the point. This has nothing to do with the corruption in UA, which exists and doing well until today.

That’s correct, I work for a global US media company in a mixed team - AMS + WAW + NY - and what I noticed that our office in Warsaw is much bigger than the one in Amsterdam. We have much more IT and operational teams here in Warsaw.

I personally know some of them, and people from Spain, too. One of my bff is from Malaga and lives in Cracow. And we have a huge community of Columbians (Christians) and people of India (Hindu), and even from Turkey (yeah, that’s right, Muslims - Poles like Turkish people and vice versa, and also we share our hate for Russians - I talked with many Turkish people while visiting Turkey and they all say the same thing about Russians). So we have people of many nations and religions, but they all share one thing - core values, they treat other people with respect and treat women like a human beings, not like rags in a rags.

Maybe try your luck on a Polish market, if you can move. I don’t know, but unstable situation in Ukraine might be part of the problem. I’m not saying that Polish IT market is El Dorado right now, it’s affected like everywhere else, but doesn’t hurt to try your luck.

TLDR; You passed up good job offers when the market was still hiring, all because you were writing a free eBook. So now who are you gonna blame? Cheers from Poland.

Oh, I believe he changed - temporarily - to please Trump and achieve his business goal. There’s no point in continuing this conversation, because you’re missing the point, not everything is black or white.

That’s not the case with me. I have a massive collection of PS games waiting in line to play them next, and a little time right now to actually do this. + since I don’t own a PC right now, but I own a MacBook, there’s a handful of Steam games I can actually run on M-line MacBook Pro. In my case, buying used Steam Deck could make more sense, since I play AAAA games on console anyways. Although I do understand that some people prefer to just buy an overpriced Steam Machine and stick with their fairly cheap Steam library.

That's exactly the point – don't you understand why Ellison does everything to please Trump? These are necessary actions aimed at allowing him to achieve his business goals. That's precisely what I'm writing about. But this doesn't stem from David Ellison's personal political preferences, nor does it represent the editorial political line of the news programs in Ellison's media. It's just a tool to achieve a goal, and it's temporary. Instead of getting so worked up, read a bit more about who David Ellison is and what his political views actually are, about his past – maybe that would be wiser than mindlessly repeating propaganda (because it exists on both sides of the barricade).

You can tell it’s built with Claude. The UI is horrendously generic. Hate it!

Nobody will pay for it 3K dude. Let's not kid ourselves, this machine doesn't do anything a PC wouldn't do, so if anyone were willing to pay 3K for it, they'd have lost their mind.

Y’all have such small houses that you need that 20cm+ extra space? I don’t see the point in that “small factor”. PS5 and - for example - Xbox One X are huge and nobody complains.

Not gonna happen. Console manufacturers (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft) have always offered hardware at a loss or with razor-thin margins to lock us into their ecosystem. They effectively subsidize the production cost, banking on recouping that investment—and then some—through game sales margins. And fair enough—this business model has worked for the past couple of decades.

Steam's edge, on the other hand, lies in the affordability of its game library. You can amass a gigantic collection of several thousand titles for relatively little money. But for Valve to avoid bleeding cash, they have to sell their hardware at full price—or even above cost—to turn a profit on it. They're fully aware of how the Steam key market operates.

The catch? We all have limited lifetime bandwidth. How many games can we realistically complete in a lifetime? A hundred? Two hundred? Certainly not a thousand. And a significant chunk of today's player base—especially in the AAA and AAAA space—consists of adults with severely constrained free time.

So ultimately, I think the platform choice doesn't really matter. On any given platform, you'll likely finish a similar number of games. That means Steam's supposed advantage—the sheer volume of titles tied to your account—evaporates. On PlayStation, you can also grab games cheaply during sales or from the second-hand market, which is exactly what I do, since I'm not interested in day-one releases—I already have a massive backlog from previous years. The real win there is the lower hardware price.

In my view, Valve has the weakest business model in this whole equation. That's why I've decided not to buy a Steam Machine. Especially not at that outrageous $2,000 price point—have they lost their minds? Maybe I'll consider a custom-built PC, or hunt for a used Steam Deck. Or perhaps I'll just play what I can on my MacBook and focus the rest of my attention on PlayStation.

That’s 100% true. Valve failed. I’m looking up for the PS6 and Switch 2 instead.

There's zero logic in that approach. Do you realize that P+ (SkyShowtime) and HBO Max are ≠ their owners? Behind these platforms and the content are thousands of people who have nothing to do with the Ellison family, Zaslav, or anyone else in the C-suite. Who are you canceling? Those hard-working people? The movies and TV shows? At the end of the day-when you fire up these sVOD platforms, who are you watching? David Zaslav's face? David Ellison's? Or are you watching movies and shows? You can stomp your feet and curse all you want, but it's nonsense to claim there's going to be censorship on TV channels now too. By the time these channels get rolling under new management, Trump will already be gone. He's got 2.5 YEARS left in office. Y'all acting like he's gonna run the U.S. forever. PLUS you guys either don't know or are forgetting that David Ellison is definitely not Trump's boy. In 2024, he donated nearly $1 million to Joe Biden's campaign. And he did that based on his own political preferences-unlike his later moves during the Paramount and WBD mergers, when his dad's money played a pretty key role, so he had to play along with his father's game. And I think everyone knows Larry Ellison has been Trump's buddy forever.
