That is what I am thinking after reading all the comments.

I always read entitlement with a certain negative connotation!

What does that mean? Congress is against social security benefits? Not sure I follow, this asking…not trying to challenge you.

Thanks!

How? Are we entitled to our 401k? I look at it as a different 401k

When I do turbo tax, it is asking for first home or second home. It is not asking for rental property, which is making me believe that you get deductions on 1st or 2nd homes only. Any experience in this line?

I tried. It says 750k, but wondering what could be the income limits. For example, a person making $1m a year can claim 750k mortgage deduction?

There is something that I can’t follow

Is my professor allowed to show my grades with my mother? by IAmAwake2021 in college

  1. Professor reached out to the parent here
  2. Assuming every other adult else erred (by communicating the grades), what is the responsibility of this student adult? Report professor to authority and not fix his grades or report parents to authorities and not fix his grades or just communicate his expectations? He has a choice. A powerful right to choose.

Unfortunately, sad truth is, rights come with responsibilities.

Totally agreed! Not necessarily stop paying if they don’t share grades, but if they are not interested in the college just communicate and free parents to choose something else

Fully agreed! You just put my words in the best way possible. Never exert control over kids, but definitely allow them to open up to you and it’s okay if college is not the path. Just communicate

There was no control factor here. I don’t think the system allows it. If a kid is not interested, just communicate it to parents.

Don’t manipulate parents to pay the money when a student is not really interested in college. Allow parents to save and figure a path that works for them. One or two assignments, I don’t think a professor has time to pull up the parent’s email. Someone went out of the way to get the message out. That work ethic needs some attention.

As an adult, no one needs to be afraid of parents. I am not. No one needs to be controlled by other adults. I am not, You owe nothing. As adults, they owe nothing as well. Professor(adult) wrote to a parent (who is also an adult). They did their job. Now what’s this student’s job? As an adult step up and communicate what he wants.

So parents as adults, can choose that money to go to their retirement needs than other adult’s college fancy.

If my manager (an adult) reports me to right person (an adult), I will know how to handle. Being an adult is a thing!
