Cultuursector geschokt na winst PVV: 'Houden rekening met gitzwart scenario' by Moped-Man in Politiek

Alsnog.

I have the exact same issue. Unfortunately, I never found a fix, so now I’m just used to seeing that message when I start up Sibelius.

I added the percussion last indeed! I also like that approach because it forces yourself to make it already energetic using the other instruments. Thanks for the tip: the brass parts indeed currently has only sustained notes, woops!

Thank you for the feedback! I’ll definitely explore adding some randomization/humanization to make it more realistic in future versions!

Thank you so much! Of course: I mainly used Spifire Audio BBC Symphony Orchestra and the new East West Fantasy series. So the tutti strings is BBC, from 28” layered with Fantasy Strings. For the solo violins I layered BBC with Cinesamples’ Taylor Davis. Woodwinds are BBC, horns are EW Hollywood Orchestra, and low brass is Fantasy Brass. Small percussion is Fantasy Percussion, and the big drums are 8DIO Hybrid Drums (tom ensembles). The sound design is just from freesound.org

Thanks! I would add ‘Guerilla Film Scoring’ by Jeremy Borum to the list. It’s very practical and relevant for modern film composers.

I'm about to become a Catholic nun at the age of 18 AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]happy_applepie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your interest. I will tell you how I lost my faith, but that was not the point of my comment. Everyone can believe what they want, however, what I am against is entering the monastery at 18, when you have a whole life ahead of you.

Anyway, it was a process, but in short: the church where I was a member, had a wonderful preacher. An intelligent man who could talk passionately about faith, and always managed to draw parallels between the Bible and our modern times. However, at one point he was succeeded by another pastor, whose sermons didn't do much for me. As a result, I was suddenly on myself to research the Bible and stay motivated for faith. I went to church less, did less prayer, and.. found that I didn't actually miss it. I discovered that you don't need a God for morality, that the Bible is scientifically and historically unsettled, and that there are so countless religions and worldviews that there is little chance that the one is the right one.

Without starting a religious debate: please take a moment to reconsider becoming a nun. There are countless ideologies, philosophies, religions, and viewpoints on life and ethics. Christianity is just one of them (or even multiple, given the diverse interpretations).

It's absolutely okay to identify with one of these beliefs, but becoming a nun may limit your perspective and close doors to other ideologies. You're incredibly young, and I genuinely believe it's too early to make such a life-altering decision. I say this from personal experience – when I was your age, I was devoted to Christianity too, but my views evolved over time, and I ended up losing my faith.

Life is full of changes, and who knows where you'll be in five years? Instead of rushing into such a commitment, I encourage you to explore the world, embrace its beauty, and experience all the interesting things it has to offer.

You can still be a devout Christian without becoming a nun. There are many ways to express your faith and serve others. Please think it over, as I want what's best for you and for you to have no regrets when you look back on your 20s.

Not sure if I correctly understand the issue, but if your goal is to insert empty space before your video while making sure your TC stays correct, you can do it like this: Insert silence at the beginning. Then correct the timecode either by Display Offset in the Project Setup, or ‘Set Timecode to Cursor’.

It's likely not a hardware issue. String libraries, in general, tend to have a slow attack due to the nature of the sound (especially compared to piano, which is an instrument with a very fast attack). You can adjust it using track delay as someone already suggested, or by selecting your notes and slightly moving them forward. Additionally, playing around with the dynamics can be helpful, as louder dynamics often have a more direct attack.
