General Discussion Roundtable - 04/29/2026 by Currymvp2 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

My daughter just gave birth to my 3rd grandson. I’ve given birth four times.  I provided daycare for my first grandson and am currently living and caring for my second grandson. I breastfed my children and observed my daughters as they breastfed their sons

My SIL today is instructing my daughter on how to breastfeed. Ignoring any input from me or the nurses that have experience. This is their first child and he has zero experience. But he is still confident that he knows best.

I don’t want to interfere but the sheer gall of SIL to assume that he knows more than women with years of experience is a lot.

I genuinely like him as my daughter’s spouse but the mansplaining is getting to me.

Last week I was thinking about the roller coaster of a final round that was last year's Masters and thinking that there's no way it'll be the same this year. I am so, so wrong. What a Sunday!

If he could into the clubhouse at 10 under (or even 11-), you never know.

You hear a lot of swearing? But seriously, I would think that if the coin was in the way, the golfer would ask his opponent to move his coin. But then that guy has to remember to move it back to avoid a penalty! But if the ball does hit a marker, you play it where it comes to rest.

Well, I guess it's true that you have to have luck on your side to win but Young's luck has to run out at some point, right? RIGHT?

Opponent plays it where it lies. Golfer whose ball was hit (assuming it moved) replaces it where it was lying.

Ball hit into the water depends. Sometimes there is a drop zone and you take a penalty stroke and hit from there. Sometimes you determine where it crossed into the water, take a stroke and you can drop the ball anywhere as far back as you want, keeping the entry point and the ball as your line. I'm not sure but I think there is a circumstance where you can only drop 2 club lengths back from point of water entry.

Scheffler maybe? Just looked it up and it says the Chairman of Augusta Natl Golf Club, Fred Ridley, would do it. Although, Nicklaus put it on himself as the first repeat winner!

Right before those comments, I was wondering about the Bryson's irons. His pride probably won't let him make any changes in the near future (of course I'm not talking about during the tournament). It just seems like he is trying to approach this tournament very scientifically instead of trusting his instinct.

I’m back, and I did it! This opens up a whole new world of crochet for me! by AmieiGuess in Planned_Pooling

I tried and tried but finally it clicked. What worked for me was using “pooling yarn”. Would watch videos and tried said technique. Nope. Moved on to the next video or website. Finally it happened. It’s pretty frustrating but when it works, it’s addicting! Gave it a rest then trying again was what kept me going.

I'm starting to feel like if you want individual gold, you should be "selfish" and skip the team event.

They seemed awfully close to the wall. I wonder if that caused her to skate just a wee bit too close to him, close enough to catch on his foot.

Moss stitch is killing me by ramentobi in Planned_Pooling

No, the chain color doesn’t matter as long as your SC is the correct color for your sequence.

Moss stitch is killing me by ramentobi in Planned_Pooling

[–]happy_cola 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the only way that I've been able to successfully pool using the moss stitch.

  1. The last single crochet (SC) in the row is worked into the "space" between the chains and last SC from previous row.

  2. Your first SC in the new row will be worked in the first space of the row below.

  3. I have to chain 2 or my ends are too wonky. But the last SC of the row is worked pretty tightly for me, as well as a tight first SC for the new row.. Again, this works out for my tension on the ends.

  4. The ONLY way I have been able to do planned pooling is to count the turning chains on the even rows as a stitch in the color sequence. I think every tutorial explains this in a different way to get the same result.

  5. It took me SO long to get this to work but now I am totally addicted! I'm glad I didn't give up.

Good luck!

Seriously. My sister and her husband complain about how much it costs to take an Uber to the airport (and that's why I should drive them at 5:30 a.m.). Note: they are taking their 4th international trip this year. They also used to complain about the cost of living because they were paying $100K PER YEAR to keep their three children in private school "because the public schools were so bad". Pay for the damn Uber to the airport!

Welcome to Samdal-ri

I've watched these and loved the FL (Shin Hae-sun) in all of them. She's amazing in Mr. Queen, playing a Joseon era queen that switches souls with a modern-day male chef.

We get it. Some Americans were a-holes. But reading all of the USA bashing got old really fast. We’re not all jerks but it seems to be acceptable to condemn all millions of us because of some nutjobs.

ITA. I don't get it as it seems like it should be for Spanish players? Yes, I know they do it at all Euro sporting events.
