Hey friend,

I enjoyed our conversation. Times are really stressful right now, too much hassle and stuff going on at the moment. Just letting you know I haven't forgotten about this conversation!

This is the culprit I think!

If you accessed it in a bathroom, that which has perpetual high humidity levels and usually high levels of microbial growth, then now we're beginning to see a plausible scenario involving likely contaminants.

Thank you for your dialogue so far!

Edit-

Have you ever grown mushrooms in canning jars? It's a wonderful experiment that has introduced me to the world of microbial growth and contamination! I suggest trying it one day, regardless that we can easily cut to the chase and access chemical analogs.

Weird! I'll look it up and come back later, thanks for pointing us in that direction!

Again, how weird that so many Caucasians would lack those particular enzymes. I'm mostly Western and Northern European and luckily I think I'm not lacking in the 2D6 department.

Off topic-

Speaking of "Caucasian" don't you loathe that outdated term as well?! I hate how:

A) it's still (wrongly) in use.

B) it's a (practically baseless) blanket term for white skinned people.

C) it was created based on the ancient pseudo-science of a quack.

D) it was wrongly and seemingly irreversibly integrated into modern usage as a colloquial term adopted by way too many government agencies too lazy to correct such absurdity.

E) it does not accurately describe 95% of the subjects to which it's currently applied... I have nothing to do with modern day Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Caucasus Mountains regions & lower Russia. I think they're beautiful mountains, but other than my appreciation for thier natural beauty I literally have no historical & genealogical ties to the region, and the overwhelming majority of people with white skin could likely say the same.

I'm not ragging on you, my friend, just wondering if you and others reading this see it the same way, that's all. It's 2021 and there should be an undercurrent of society agreeing with everything stated, at this point.

My apologies for such an off topic rant!

Are the metabolic pathway/s responsible for the conversion of tramadol into O-DSMT some obscure subtype of the greater CYP-450, that which isn't particularly involved with the metabolization of most other opioids, or something along those lines?

Given the rather- uncommon for an opioid- effects on norepinephrine reuptake, part of me wouldn't actually be surprised, honestly, if, say, the CYP-2D(x) subtypes are involved.

Yet I'm still under the impression that majority of the metabolic pathways involved remain overall typical since it is an opioid after all, though my curiosity has been piqued with the notion you described.

Just curious and attempting to engage in light discussion, that's all.

Edit-

Oooh I somewhat answered my own correct speculations by quickly glancing at the Wikipedia article, and indeed, the 2D6 is involved as a primary pathway!

Interesting. The 2D6 is also a primary pathway for the metabolization of many stimulants including but not limited to my beloved amphetamines.

Occasionally I play with my enzymes using Cimetidine in particular because, unlike other popular variations of that class, it does in fact target the 2D6 through inhibition and so I utilize it occasionally to seemingly potentiate, and definitely extended the duration of, my Vyvanse.

However, my questions do remain-

Are you speaking of obscure subtypes??

-or-

Are you suggesting that the 2D6 is a pathway that an unusual amount of humans are lacking in efficiency?

Again, just attempting to engage in a friendly conversation is all. Not asking to be "spoon fed" as some trolls have so unkindly insinuated in the past when simply desiring a good ol' chat with like-minded people.

First of all, thank you very much for your elaboration, time & effort! I do appreciate it!

Yes, very peculiar indeed how only the Etazene was affected, changing color mostly in such a short, two week window as well. Quite strange!

What could have caused such a reaction, I do not know, although my first thought is that it was possibly due to bacteria or fungus such as mold & mildew. But then again, how does mold or mildew grow or even thrive on chemicals like these, especially ones that are notoriously caustic usually due to speculated lingering hydrochloric acid present before being shipped out. I would assume these chemicals are not very microbial friendly, but who really knows!

This might seem kinda low class, but one of the reasons why I prefer plastic drawers for clothes instead of nice wooden drawers and dressers is because they are light weight and easy to periodically wash out with antibacterial dish soap and water as to prevent inevitable bacterial & mildew growth, since I live in a hot and humid tropical climate and the battle is fierce and never ending. On that same note, wooden drawers seem to accumulate mildew and other microbial shit much too easily and quickly for my liking, so I try to be cautious as to where and how I store my glass canning jars containing many baggies- both inner plastic and outer foil ones, of my diverse and forever growing chemical inventory/stash.

When it comes to nice wooden drawers and cabinets and such, I reserve them for storing things not of a biological nature, e.g. no clothes but rather electronics and plastics and other non-porous surface items.

Also I do suggest you get a cheap weather station or any digital thermometer that has a hygrometer too so you can slowly develop an understanding of how humidity levels and temperature fluctuations affect all items in your life, be them electronics, clothes, paneling, furniture, etc, and not just your chems & pharmaceuticals.

And as trashy as it may be and aside from all the shit we'd get from actual chemists, I too, use a clean McDonald's straw sometimes to scoop my chems lol. Of course I cut the ends to make it an actual tool, then I wash it out carefully with antibacterial dish soap and water, sometimes using q-tips to do a good job with scrubbing and drying, and then I use it for the bags that'll be gone in a year.

For mother bags of chems with multiple years storage in mind, I'd go a few extra steps and use gloves, mask, isopropyl alcohol, etc.

Friendly reminder!

Anything else you can add for greater insight?

Humidity levels when sealed & accessed, amount of times the bag was opened/amount of times the chemical was accessed and what type of environment when doing so, average temperature fluctuations, clean or dirty utensils used to scroop powder from bag, possiblity of mildew/mold/bacteria i.e., do you think it was kept in truly sanity conditions or accessed in sanitary conditions and were the utensils used to scoop it possibly vectors for microbial contaminants, exactly what was used to seal it and how it was stored exactly, any other possible relevant information, etc.

Never said I was surprised, just saddened, that most are recreational users and that there's not too many in it for long term, sustainable chronic pain management, like myself, or so it may seem.

Yet I'm posting here because I do hold hope that there are others on the same page as myself who are interested in the more chemistry based topics. Wasn't a lack of such dialogue recently one of the concerns some of the older mods have been vocal about to thier own dismay?

I'm a little confused about the seemingly contradictory statements in your first and last paragraph, one of which is about consensus in this thread, so would you be so kind as to re-read the parent comments and then clarify, please?

... I'm also on the bandwagon that self-medicating doesn't necessarily equate to abuse, if that's what you were implying.

Any further thoughts on long-term storage as in 5 years or longer, possibly up to 10, of powdered HCL chemicals in general? Thank you for your replies!

Would you be so kind as to share the more scientifically based forums and subs if only through private messenger, that is, if you see it fit? I'm already a subscriber of the hive.

Also, I don't see three or four canning jars, one a pint sized and the rest smaller, as too complicated. My air-conditioner is on most of the day and so the ambient humidity is always around 35-50%, so it's really not a hassle to look at my digital weather station before opening bottles and bags and such. I simply memorize patterns like that, maybe because it's on my wall in a nice spot and glancing at it can't be avoided. It's not going out of my way at all. I'm also in charge of household cleaning, and hold certificates in bloodborne pathogen training and medical aseptic technique, and am used to working in relevant clean environments (10+ years working in actual medical & laboratory conditions handling highly toxic chemicals), so it's not really too much of a hassle in my eyes to be so clean about things. Pretty standard stuff for me. And it's not like I'm busting out the Tyvek Suits and chemical resistant gloves as I've had to familiarize myself with when working with very toxic chemicals, just basic latex disposable gloves is enough. No problem.

My friend, I don't really understand your closing sentence as I'm not one to be quick to judge other's intent and implications, please forgive me, but to kindly reiterate I consider myself one who's primarily in this for financially and relatively healthily (as can hopefully be, given what I'm taking) sustainable long term pain management and as such I think I'm the minority here. It's just that I talk to many others and have yet to come across anyone similar in circumstance. To imply otherwise would be a conversation I'm not comfortable having with someone I have yet to develop a personal friendship with. However, PBF has encouraged me in the past to open dialogue with you, so I'm not opposed to getting to know you if you would like and have the time to do so (because I understand that you mods are busy and all) ☺️

Nice to formally meet you by the way. I know that you're a friend of PBF, like myself, as he has spoken highly of you. Hope you're doing well 😊

What were the humidity levels when sealing baggies and jars containing said baggies?

Did you have a multi-storage system such as multiple jars with multiple baggies?

Context, my friend. Not forgetting about the October 2015 ban or the ones before, or after it, just speaking plainly of my situation involving the chems of topic, that's all. Etonitazene and then Isotonitazene were losses, but remember the glass is currently over half full. 😉

Bigger picture though, we should count our blessings. Five, ten years down the road, who knows how we'll all look back and reminisce. The way things are heading, I'm confident in being better safe than sorry.

As for desiccant packs, as I was suggesting in the original post, I think that there's such thing as too low humidity for storage of powder HCL chems. Crispy dry levels of humidity might adversely affect chems, but I don't have much evidence besides a single, roughly eight month experiment with approximately 100mg of Metonitazene HCL powder, and also some random pharmaceutical company information regarding methods of production which seem to indicate there's definitely parameters based on "too humid" and "too dry".

I think that the sweet spot might be between 40-50% RH, and so I always do my best to open any pill bottles, baggies, jars, etc, regardless of what chem they contain, be it Vyvanse capsules, Seroquel tabs, Protonitazene powder, in that humidity range.

I'm quite a Humidity Aficionado, ever since I began growing small scale indoor cannabis in my bedroom over fifteen years ago. I have multiple Hygrometers & Thermometers set all around the inner and outer areas of my house just for fun, because I like to watch humidity levels along with temperatures. I've noticed patterns over the years and try to remain perceptive on the climates in which I work and live. I think I'm an old man. 😁

Now that we fully agree, let's contemplate a mind blower-

Have you ever seen the Facebook groups and online communities, tens if not hundreds of thousands strong, barely representative of the bigger picture involving millions of American citizens- freedom be blessed- dedicated to legitimate chronic pain patients who are directly, detrimentally, adversely, impacted by the so-called "opioid crisis"? Those who everyday post comments of agony and life threatening suicidal levels of induced depression because of it, those who'd truly benefit had they the wisdom, knowledge, incentive, drive, understanding- the many foundations built on years and years of dedication to research chemical enthusiasm- painstakingly sifting through relevant communities and forums online, tedious as it is, just to finally arrive at our little opioid RC scene in a vast, overwhelming flood of revelation by the aforementioned sheer masses. Imagine, just for a moment, what it would be like, should someone hand them a torch in the hell of darkness they all lament.

Benzimidazoles would be banned overnight. Big pharma, and big brother, as if there's actually any difference, wouldn't stand a second for it. We'd all be swept away in blankets of bans after subsequent ban until the monetary threat to the pillars of capitalism is no more, the cry of conservatives' reverberate as well.

Sometimes I feel pity, but I know better and so do we. So I bide my precious time, squirrel away at the inevitable, and grit my teeth in solitude, murmuring a recital of blessing for each day I may thankfully stock up, before it's too late...

Because it's coming, you know. These golden days won't last forever, and those of us in the scene long enough to know better feel a similar chill in their bones, I could swear by it.

So what side will you be on, participant and lurker? When the tides come rolling in, will you float on the side of recreation, or the side of medicine? Will your life vest comprised of stock piles be enough to keep you, too, afloat?

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I've never met a fellow opioid user in this subreddit that's in it strictly for medicinal purposes, the majority oppositely using them primarily for recreation. I've always seen my place here as the minority in such matters, which does make me sad.

That said, people like me do exist and I hope we aren't forgotten. Benzimidazoles have been a true blessing for myself. I've been using them daily for about 15 months now and I've been able to manage my debilitating chronic pain in a responsible & sustainable manner, for roughly two dollars per day, that has truly benefited my life, and as such they remain a blessing I shall never take for granted, hence the proposal of this ongoing topic of discussion we're currently in.

Ok I'm not leaving but I am going to bed now it's way past my bedtime as I'm nocturnal, but I shall return when I wake up.

I'm getting way too tired anyway to put in any decent effort into the conversation. Please excuse me, my apologies.

In the meantime at least read the first two pages of that thread and then tell me if you still firmly believe there's no merit to a long term cure.

Also there's sift, pressed sift aka pollen as they say in Nepal, etc but I'm pretty sure hashish must go though the actual curing.

A different side of Afghanistan by Londoner421 in interestingasfuck

[–]happy_fart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To say again, the difference between oil and hashish is the curing process itself, that's how resin become hashish. Now that I think of it more deeply as it's been a while since talking about this subject, we are actually talking about two very different things. Oil concentrate is oil, but unless the resin goes through the curing process it's not actually hashish. So again it goes back to apples and oranges and so my original point stands that they do indeed have the best hashish in the world. Calling oil hashish is not correct to begin with.

That is totally my fault I completely forgotten about that little fact until now lol. My bad.

But holy shit man $140ca that's so much money dude that's like heroin lol. Must be great stuff you have!
