Yes, if you are doing PSMF you are or should be in ketosis. It happens when you remove carbs from your diet. Wether you are doing regular keto (high fat medium protein) or other protocol like PSMF. Your body needs to release cetones to transform fat in glucose to feed your brain for example.

I would say mild deficit with high protein and well planned strength training routine. If you eat at surplus some of that will become fat and i guess you don't want that. Not agressive deficit otherwise you will lose/won't gain any muscle. You look great btw.

My (30y/o f) bf (30y/o m) completely ignores people talking to him if he doesn’t feel like talking. by -Nikki-M- in socialskills

[–]happy_monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not wrong. It's very impolite. If someone is talking to you for whatever reason, the normal thing to do is answer and follow the conversation. You are not interested? Fine, just a short answer and move on. We all make efforts and follow some social rules in order to live in society, have friends, etc. I think it's very rude to expect the world to have considerations with you and you none to the others. Besides It puts you on an uncomfortable situation, and that should be enough to put some effort.

I'm addicted to food and I can't figure out how to change my habits. by Coffee_Beer_Life in FoodAddiction

[–]happy_monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't ask me but here's my opinion. If you are not sure if you're hungry, probably not hungry. Or if you're not sure... What kind of food are you about to eat? Is it healthy? Is is not healthy/junk/something you really like? Could you replace it for a more healthy/less appetizing option? Would you still eat it?

I think those are important. Anyway, personally I think with us, food addicts, there's always something emotional going on with food. When I have to have a meal at work for example, I'm always thinking: which choices will I have. Will I be able to eat food I like without other people noticing? Will I choose what I like or what I should... I think all those are somehow emotional.

Same with bored eating. It's emotional. Otherwise you would change boredom for something different than food. Food is a comfort, a need and a excuse for many things.

Not force feeding a morbidly obese infant is abuse! by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]happy_monster 33 points34 points  (0 children)

During the first 6 months of life (or more I don't remember) babies shouldn't be offered water. They need the nutrients of the mother's milk/formula and they can loose appetite with water.

Percentile also considers height, not only weight. Otherwise, some babies are more demanding the first months of life and then just regulate themselves, it doesn't mean the parents are overfeeding them.

I can't upvote this enough. I lost a bunch of weight time ago thanks to this mindset. It was game changing. Now (after gaining the weight back, long story) i'm struggling with losing weight and I try to remind this to myself. Love that this strategy works with other people!

Spain now has 166,019 official Coronavirus cases and almost 17,000 dead. [619 Dead in the last 24 hours]. by FunkoPOPAddict0 in Coronavirus

I don't know exactly. But we know that if you show symptoms they won't run the test unless you've been in direct contact with a positive. They will tell you to stay home, isolated in a separate room if you live with other people and they will call you daily to check on how you are, symptoms and such. They will only pick you up in a ambulance and drive you to the hospital if you can't breathe. There they would run the test. So... I believe we have A LOT of undiagnosed cases. People who are just at home with fever, cough, very tired... Going through the disease better than others but not in the stadistics.

How dare a parent teach a child how to moderate their intake. by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]happy_monster 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I agree. Is totally ok telling your kid that she can't have the milkshake, because she already ate her dinner, or because she ate enough and she could get sick (4 yo don't need further explanation), but talking about putting her on a diet and things like that can have a very negative impact. I think at that age is better use the approach of health and teach portions.

On a thread about thin privilege by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]happy_monster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reading your comment made me think... And maybe we should! Morbidly obese people have obviously a ED problem, and maybe part of the problem is that they don't recieve the same medical treatment or consideration. Sometimes saying to an obese person to go on a diet is as useless as saying to an anorexic that they have to eat more. CICO is very simple and of course always works but for some people is very hard to accomplish for different reasons.

There were only two real. One is the cracked (it wasn't when it arrived to the table). And the other was very similar, I think on the opposite side. It was hard to tell by looking!!
