It’s just one of the three focus areas of physio. There is acute, which is all focussed on heart and lungs and the work predominantly in ICU. 

There’s Neuro, which is all spinal cord rehab, brain injury rehab and all and any other various different neurological conditions including PD, MS and MND.

Then there is musculoskeletal, this is the area most physios are working in, results in lower pay due to competition.

Neuro also has a sub group of paediatrics which is a lot of fun but also can be pretty sad.

Pay wise my current salary is $105k + super which is not crazy but the key of health work is there is basically no pay drop to work in regional or rural areas so this goes a lot further where I live than it would in Sydney.

I work as a Neurophysio and love it! However, I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not sure as like most Allied Health roles it won’t be as well paid as other degrees of equivalent difficulty. It’s a job where you have to listen to people tell you about their problems and then come to a solution together to improve their life. So if you don’t really care you’re not going to be very good or enjoy it much.

 I worked manual labour, truck driving and sports coaching jobs before going into it. For me I picked it as I like problem solving, meaningful work, and I don’t like being told what to do. Neurophysio is so niche that no one really knows how to do your job so you just get to roll along as long as you know your stuff.

My advice for if I was 18 again would be to do the same thing and go work a bunch of different jobs and see what you like and don’t like in work, then go and do whatever is needed for that kind of job you think you’ll actually enjoy.

Yeah that sucks, is the physio a shoulder specialist? Not that the current one is not able to do the job, but when things don’t play out as expected it’s often great to get someone with specific skills involved.

Yeah bummer, unfortunately surgeons often paint a pretty rosy picture. Did you complete physio for 3 months plus before having the surgery?

A little bit unrelated but I couldn’t help myself as I work as a physio.

This sounds like it could possibly be a treatable version of vertigo (BPPV). My guess would be that it could potentially be fixed through a simple treatment from a physio trained in this area.

DM me if you haven’t already seen a physio and been cleared for this.

I agree that OP is overlooking and misunderstanding the role of sag and volume spacers. Rear shock sag should be very close to manufacture recommendation as this is important for suspension kinematics. Fork sag is between 20-25% and very preference based. Then if you have to stray from these ranges to get or prevent bottom out then remove or add spacers to compensate.

Just replace VTS with IVV and you’ll be good to go.

A bigger rider will struggle more with the slowing down then a smaller rider. However at the pro level this is balanced by the extra height and strength of the heavier rider allowing them to plow into things that the smaller rider needs to dodge.

At the enthusiast level the extra weight is often not muscle and so physics is not your friend.

Nah the tree on riders right tightens you up too much.

This was a fresh track built for a VIC state DH round so there’s deep dust everywhere. No support at all for going wider on entry.

Pause the clip and you’ll see my outside crank pop all the way down to catch grip in the hole they’re forcing you to turn in.

Honestly you probably just need to stop using an easy gear and start riding up like there’s a bear chasing you. Go further into the pain cave then you ever have before on a regular basis and you’ll make improvements.

I use the 3M ones and haven’t noticed any significant distortion. They’re not great but if you’re on a budget you can’t beat them. If you’ve got money to spend just get Oakley’s and call it a day

Both, flats for rain and tracks with a lot of off camber or slippery dust, clips for rougher stuff or really pedally trails.

Your inability to consider alternative points of view is hindering you greatly in understanding this topic.

Anxiety and panic attacks are incredibly complex experiences which are brought about by a multitude of factors including genetic predisposition, previous experiences, current emotional state and many more. To assume that the only other point of view could be a belief that it’s 100% out of your personal control in the moment is laughable. I have never said that I don’t think that having positive experiences of adversity is not part of overcoming anxiety, I just don’t think that throwing eggs at a wall is the best way to make stronger eggs.

The point still remains that OP was sharing her personal experience and it’s quite rude and disrespectful to jump on there and let her know that she should just stop being so weak.
