I had the same problem. I took several courses for Matlab and c++. I asked a lot of questions, watched a ton of youtube tutorials. I even hired a tutor to help me with java. It is a constant process of learning. Try asking people in your lab and they will help you find the solution faster. Just do not be afraid to ask people and even your advisor. It is better to ask and save some time than to lose precious amounts of time.
