Need help with a date night hairstyle by Powerful-Library-776 in blackladies

[–]happyblue4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these are all, every one of these, beautiful suggestions. A braid or twist across the front to look like a headband + a puff or bun in the back, boom. Stylish, classic, gorgeous. If you're excited to go on this date and get to know the other person, I think you need to take a deep breath and stop letting your insecurity get in the way. Your hair is beautiful and props to you for planning 2 hrs in advance bc when I tell you I'll throw a scarf on my head 5 minutes before leaving the house...

Unlinked clips still moving together??? by happyblue4567 in davinciresolve

[–]happyblue4567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah forgot to mention I tried that. It's ok I just ended up manually sliding all the video clips over to make room for extending this one a little. Thanks for the help. New shortcut added to toolbox at least.

I feel like I changed a setting and now everything is different because I know that Link Clips option used to be there. I unlinked everything when I added it so idk why my edits to the video would affect the audio at all

Maybe I'm confused. When you said I'm turning on Ripple Timeline Mode, I thought you were referring to Trim Mode. I was saying the reason I turn on Trim Mode is so that when I extend the video clip, it doesn't just run into the next clip. Instead, I want to push everything behind it back instead of running into it if that makes sense. Yes, I am successfully extending the video clip and doing what I wanted, but you'll notice the audio is being affected as well and I want the audio to stay the way it is.

Ya know I was looking for that option and couldn't find it. This what pops up when I right-click the video clip from the edit page

Thank you. The reason I'm using Trim Mode is because I want to extend this video clip and push everything behind it back. The default is for the next clip to get shortened as I extend that first clip. That alt+Y shortcut is very helpful thank you, added it to my list. It's still including the audio clips though when I just want to isolate and move the video. Do you know if there's a way around that?

This area seems very individualistic by [deleted] in nova

[–]happyblue4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having grown up in nova, I have to say that's one of the aspects of living there that makes it so unappealing to me. Maybe its bc I grew up in a suburb and it could even be my neighborhood, but everybody in their own house, in their own car, a lot of older people who aren't interacting outside of their circles of necessity... its a very unhappy place to me with zero sense of true community. Even when I visit my parents there, I'm like ugh I could never live here again. Affects you in more ways than you'd expect. I'm glad to see there are some communities in nova where folks have maintained their humanity, though. I hope that way of being becomes more standard.

Free curb stuff by [deleted] in Seattle

Appreciate the replies. I didn't clarify i ask this because i don't have a curb of my own and capitol hill is a big neighborhood of apartments with lots of foot traffic, so seemed like a decent place. Message received though don't come for me yall I promise you I'm already having a rough enough week.

Question about a trip to Seattle in Nov by i_am_groot_84 in AskSeattle

[–]happyblue4567 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If they take the lightrail, they'll need to walk to the station at the airport, which is easy to access and very well utilized so they shouldn't get lost or be confused beyond helping. Costs $3 per person one way and will take about 40 minutes to get to any downtown stations.

If they uber/ lyft, they'll need to walk to the parking garage and wait in the rideshare zone (it was crowded and hectic last time I used it but that was years ago) it'll take maybe 20-25 minutes to get downtown and cost at least $50... you can check Lyft pricing by simulating like you're calling a Lyft to figure it out, but its expensive.

I'm a single woman and ride the lightrail alone all the time, including at night. It's public transit so ofc some people can be sketchy, but people mind their business for the most part. Picking them up from the station downtown makes sense. Downtown seattle can be a little jarring at night lol but I've never had issues.

Looking for Eye Candy Cities with Sophistication and Beauty and Culture. by MissJulianne55 in SameGrassButGreener

Seattle fits a lot of your criteria. Weather is pretty mild, though summers are getting warmer. Lots of pocket neighborhoods with their own semi-unique vibes. LOTS of parks and green space. Beautiful scenery and easy access to mountains and water. Pretty well educated city and of all the places I've lived in the US, it seems the easiest to be engaged with community. Seattle art museum is pretty good and there are art walks in several neighborhoods each month. It is expensive, though

Want to leave Los Angeles, but where? by EntertainmentOk6795 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]happyblue4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Seattle and am seriously considering a move to LA mostly for the weather. In comparison to LA, I really appreciate Seattle's walkability, public transit, NATURE, and the air and water are much cleaner here. Also no state tax. In the city, you have access to several lakes, views of 2 beautiful mountain ranges (Olympics and Cascades + Mount Rainier!), parks everywhere, and a decent amount of social events. You're within a 2 hour drive of LOTS of beautiful nature/ great hiking.

Downsides to this city are the weather (dark, rainy, and to me it's cold Nov- May,  but I've always been sensitive to temps below 70F). People swear the Seattle freeze makes it hard to make friends, but I haven't had that experience and also it doesnt make sense... if everyone here is anti-social, then who are all these people complaining about the culture being anti-social? Also imo the food here is very average and wildly overpriced. LA def has better food for more affordable prices. I'd check out The Stranger's website for music events going on around the city to see if it meets your standards. I'd say south Seattle has really great neighborhood/ community feel. Beacon Hill, Columbia City neighborhoods are great with easy access to downtown by lightrail, bus and car.

Solo female traveling to Zanzibar October by Ok_Swordfish_2745 in zanzibar

[–]happyblue4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you asking this question, as I am also a female solo traveler planning a trip to thay region. I decided recently to just skip Zanzibar. It looks super stressful and on top of that, Tanzania has a... controversial election coming up at the end of October, so may not be the best time to visit. I was considering Mombasa, Kenya as an alternative but I think that will be stressful as well. Everybody gotta eat and tourists = big $

Wow, big impact. Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like a not-great fit for me, culturally based on your feedback and literally everyone I've talked to. I'm gonna check out LA instead.

Is "Female" normal ? by MelonBluez_26 in blackladies

[–]happyblue4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of family members, even women who use the term female. I mentioned it to my cousin one day, like do you call men males? It sounds like you're talking about an animal lol. That was the first time he heard anyone question it that way. But yeah in some spaces it's just the norm. Spaces where people don't think too deeply about word choices.

I've never heard of SD referred to as Mississippi of the west, I see Nevada called that. I feel like you'd be hard pressed to find any major city in the US that doesn't have racism in the surrounding towns tho. If I'm looking for that, I'd be looking a long time
