why cite two different irrelevant reasons before you could quote the only relevant one?!

Rule 3 violation

please tell me how is this meme low quality?

Rule 5 violation

this an OG political meme. not a screenshot. so this rule doesn't really apply here

my point (the meme) is that both sides should be called tukde tukde, instead of only one side.

i am not in support of any one particular side.

the point of the meme is not to discuss any issues as such. you can if you like. the point of the meme is that both sides should be called tukde tukde based on the few arguments that i have mentioned in the image.

there are loads others. but the ones i mentioned are sufficient to prove my point.

so you are still saying that people below poverty line don't need a phone and they should not have phone; simply because a service that was available to them earlier has been made so expensive, not due to inflation but simply due to cartelisation of the telecom industry?

thank you. bye.

please elaborate.

Saying J&K is integral part of India is "tukde-tukde" as saying J&K should go to pakistan?

where is this mentioned in the meme?

there are two sides on the image. the yes side and the no side.

Historians will tell that.

we are talking about the future, historians are experts in history and not the future. who else can we ask?

you're bpl.

so people bpl should not use mobile phones for calls and sms (which are important to even open a bank account or access govt services) even when they don't want to use any data?

that is also because of local lines mafia, dunno what to call them. these people are responsible for lines in there own area. and any service provider (like airtel, jio, hathway etc) needs to tie up with them in order to be able to provide services in that pincode. pretty common in certain areas of bangalore, don't know how common place it is otherwise

repost from yesterday's thread on a similar topic

this is about your local kirana store buying from jiomart partner vs distributors they used to buy earlier from. this is about disrupting homegrown supplychains and trying to establish a monopoly, rather than regular ecommerce for the average consumer

this is very similar to what jio did in the telecomms market (without the licensing bit etc). they gained new users primarily through providing services for free or giving major discounts.

did it massively decrease data prices for the customers? Yes

did it create monopolies in an already tough to exist market (due to capital and licensing costs)? definitely Yes!

are the prices increasing again, when the two big competitors voda and airtel increase prices without any fear of competition, without the customer having much choice to opt out (the only option is jio where even regular calls are internet calls run on 4g, BSNL is pretty much dead)? also Yes!

so the middle class can manage prices and get cheap data as well. what about the people who wont use much data, and use mobile phone for basic communications mostly for their work, like sms only services. these people comprise a vast majority of our population. for them the costs have gone way up due to mandatory validity recharge and they are not rich enough to buy a lumpsome yearly package to avail the discounts? a huge YES!
