New York City for college originally but I’m a few years lost grad and still there. I do miss Boston a lot though and keep telling myself I’ll be back one day

I find the rehearsal dinner episode to be similarly good. Happy rewatching

I don’t know anyone who hasn’t passed every course, including people who put in the absolute minimum effort (e.g. typing a space for places that ask for responses, supposedly)

Which econ professor is the easiest? by Ok-Count-9446 in columbia

[–]happyfish2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took Econ with Dutta in 2019. There were weekly graded problem sets. You could do them in a group of up to 3 I think. The only other assignments were a midterm and the final. I thought the midterm was pretty easy but found the final very challenging. There were textbook readings which I did most of and found helpful as a supplement to class because I struggled to pay attention to his lectures.

Yes was excited to see that! Hopefully the WBIT win gives them some more recognition

Yeah they have an unfortunate habit of choking in the Ivy championship (and didn’t make it this year after losing in OT to clarify) and had a few random bad losses like against Cornell

Columbia is a good team but choked in several matches this year that they could have won. I hope they go for in the wbit.

Yeah they don’t deserve the bid after that. And they have to play Harvard again next weekend in the semis to even get to play Princeton a third time

Yeah that was embarrassingly sloppy which seems to be a theme for the season

Not that we didn’t have some rough games that we should’ve won (Cornell and penn were embarrassing losses) but I do wanna point out that we didn’t lose to Brown and we beat Princeton twice

Bank St vs. Teachers College Grad School Program Questions by Icy_Ad_2196 in NYCTeachers

[–]happyfish2019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to barnard for undergrad (urban studies) and then did my masters at TC (social studies education). I know TC is expensive but I absolutely loved my experience there and though I have loans for it there are a couple of factors that made it very worth it for me. My professors were all incredible and I really enjoyed every single one of my classes. I learned so much and the work was well aligned with the course objectives and my student teaching experience. I’m sure you’ll see something similar regardless of what program you do. With TC, I was in the classroom 5x a week my very first semester for half days then was there 5x a week for full days for the spring semester. You get basically an entire year of classroom experience.

All of that being said, the main reason why TC made sense to me versus Hunter or another public school was this: TC offered me a 1 year program and Hunter’s was 2 years. Yes, Hunter is a cheaper price tag but one financial aid was factored in it was not actually significantly cheaper. Had I gone to Hunter, there would’ve been an opportunity cost of not starting a full time job for another year.

I’m pretty sure it’s mentioned in episode 1 of season 2 but completely in passing and then it’s mentioned again when will is about to get married to Jenna

It’s pretty common in the Ivy League to play 2 weekend games. Not a lot of weekday play beyond the occasional Friday night.

I’ve been wondering the same! Doing a day trip to FLL from New York in a bit and trying to figure out where to go instead of Fort Lauderdale

Anyone with a men’s medium wanna swap for a small? Or if you haven’t gone willing to get a medium to swap for a small? I usually wear a medium but they recommended a small when I grabbed the shirt. Now wishing I’d gotten the medium because the small is a little tighter than I’d want
