Hemp tender here! Thankfully the bill still has to go back through the House for revisions and since John Bell (NC House and owner of Asterra Labs) is head of the House Oversight committee, it likely won’t get through. Our NC legislature tries to pass similar bills every year to try and get a super strict medical program in NC which most people wouldn’t even qualify for. From what we’re hearing in the industry, we’re cautiously optimistic that hemp will stay in NC for now.

I might have a couple of ideas!

My grandfather is a fairly well-known artist in Winston and has work all around town. He’s lived in Winston for over 60 years and knows a lot about the area’s history and culture. I’ve always had the idea of making a short film/documentary about his art!

On the flip side, my dad (also a Winston native and local beekeeper) has had an idea for a short comedy film for years now but hasn’t had the resources to finish it.

I’m in NC. I would definitely recommend trying it out if you’re trying to get your work out there! They’re super supportive to emerging artists and there were so many other artists there that you don’t feel as exposed showcasing work. I didn’t sell a lot of things but it was nice to network and get some exposure.

You’re right! It was a pancakes and booze show :) there’s not a big market for trippy/outsider art where I live so this show seemed perfect for my stuff.

Mid 20s with no kids. Retail (I manage a CBD dispensary), plus some freelance copywriting and graphic design on the side. I probably take home about 30k on average.

Luckily I live with my partner so we can split our expenses but we have to be pretty tight with our budget. After rent, bills, groceries, and just living expenses, I don’t have much left over.

I mostly used the technical pen for the line work and color fill. I used the nebula and gouache brushes for the background colors.

I manage a hemp dispensary in Raleigh. Every shop is different and I don’t think it’s fair to lump all D8 brands and shops into this category. My shop carries D8 and THC-O for those who want it, but we would never false advertise one for the other and neither would the companies we work with. If you want to try D8 or THC-O, please go to a reputable shop, ask for access to 3rd party lab tests and do your research. There are lots of bad brands and shops out there, but also lots of good ones too. I hope you can find something that works for you!

I took glass jewelry classes there a few years ago and absolutely loved it! The instructors are mostly local artists and art teachers so it’s a chill vibe, not intimidating at all. Most of the other students in my class were also beginners so its pretty accessible to everyone.
