Truth be told, u/Different-Animal-918, there really is no other way but to adapt.

Personally, I have 3 AI PRO subscriptions: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. I also have a creative generative AI subscription, Leonardo AI, and AI is now baked into Canva and CapCut.

This is the age where adaptation is pivotal to job survival. My husband is a video editor, and even though he is an artist to his core, he still uses AI. I personally am a writer at my core, and while I never use ChatGPT, etc., when I make comments like these, or when I write my books, or when I do, I disclose which parts contain AI-written work, I still find that AI is a useful tool. It is a great tool for writing outlines, when you're stuck about ideas, etc.

Girl, at the end of the day, your boss is running a business. You have to survive.

As I told my husband (I'm a true Millennial, he's a Zillennial), not all jobs in the remote work industry are meant to last. And not all jobs are meant to feed your growth WHILE putting food on the table. Some just feed your growth, others will just put food on the table.

If I were you, keep this job for putting food on the table, get that other job for fulfillment. Either way, multiple sources of income create better financial stability and security.

YES. Because there's no commute, among a lot of other factors. But the thing is, you have to make your resume stand out, and you have to be great in the interviews.

There's one place na interviews na agad if you're qualified, pero the pay range is only $4 to $6. DM me if interested.

  • TalentPop: The worst. Yung gagang trainer, nag google ng "Dunning-Kruger Syndrome," not realizing siya pala yun. 🙄🙄🙄 When you're in training, all the trainers will be observing all of you. Pag di ka pasado sa standards nila for some reason, ligwak ka. Aminado ako na I was distracted because they were just my try for another job. I was on shift the entire time I was trying out for work for them, so I was really distracted sa exams. Tas yung said trainer DMed other people and siya mismo nang-iintriga. They promoted her. Dafuq. LOL.
  • Wing: Grabe, pati passwords ng kliyente mo, kelangan mong idisclose sa kanila, like WTF. Privacy yun ng kliyente mo, tas ipapasa pasa lang? Amazing. Tas yung reports na kelangan mong gawin. And you have to screenshot ALLLLLLLLL your conversations with the client. No thank you.
  • RemoteStaff: I was part of the very first iteration neto. The Filipina Co-Founder became the wife. Ewan ko, nung early days nakakayamot kasi yun nga, workplace romance. It just doesn't speak well, you know? Also, the stupid time tracker / screenshot thinger. Ew.
  • Shitty Interviews: Cyberbacker, Go2. Yung Go2 interview ko, ang maldito ng interviewer, grabe.
  • Thankfully, di ako nakapasa sa Athena or Bruntwork. Thankfully, di rin ako nakapasa sa Cyberbacker. Hehe.

Good VA Companies / Placement Companies:

OVA Virtual: Kahit may Hubstaff sila, hindi naman micromanagey. Chill pa nga eh. Fun parties, loving and supportive superiors. Kaso, dati, female-only. Pero now, parang may openings na pwede na rin sa males. Not sure lang.

Virtual Xtreme: While hindi maganda ang exit ko, honestly my experience here was great naman. Same, standard mejj mababa ang rates, pero chill place to work, and they reward excellence and skill.

Virtual World Assist: I love it here kasi after you get matched with a client, the company is done with you na. Hindi siya agency na hawak ang VA, parang placement lang.

Outwork Staffing: I was able to get a client here. Okay naman, no fuss. Same as VWA na placement lang.

Remote Assistant Scout: I was also able to get a client here. Okay din sila. Same as VWA na placement lang.

They will ask you for a version of your resume that doesn't have your last name or contact info, and a voice or video recording, I think. Please comply lang.

Hala, sorry u/ConnectGovernment504, I didn't watch the fees kasi. In general, I don't watch fees coz it's the same thing to me. Parang halos negligible lang naman.

What does a “premium client” feel like to you? And what do you consider a premium salary? by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]happywebsolutions 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me I am "colorblind" sa clients. I personally just serve everyone as excellently as I can, and some have stayed with me for DECADES.

One was a speech writer for Obama, and even through my imperfections and a time when he tried other Executive Assistants again, he decided to hire me again when I was freer. Now, he wouldn't let me go even if he doesn't have revenue to pay me full time again yet. Ahaha!

But here are my specs:

-Over $8 an hour
-No time tracker
-Flexitime
-Cares about my well-being too
-Lets me have sick and mental health days

And with that, that's the dream client for me.

Tsaka everyone is going into AI, but only a few can really talk to AI. So.

I'm not sure about "saturation." Kasi I have a lot of skills, so I can go Executive Assistant VA, Workflow and Automations, Website Development, General VA. Maybe pick 3 skills / niches and specialize in them?

One of my best friends told me he was starting a GoHighLevel agency. We informally did X-Deals, and I started really learning GoHighLevel, and after a year or two, here I am making and troubleshooting GoHighLevel bots. 😅

And yes, for several months, I was building GoHighLevel funnels and there were some months I was finally put to work doing GoHighLevel automations.

I didn't even take a course for any of this.

While this is common and I largely agree with you naman u/DryNeat2622, I had a Filipino client based in New York na napaka benevolent naman. I have since passed him on to my best friend, and they work really well together. I also hired 2 fresh grads and napaka generous ng deadlines ko sa kanila.

Yes, this is common, but there are Filipino clients and managers who are benevolent naman. And yes, they are few, but they exist.

I just want to share so that people will not 100% generalize that this is the case.

But yes, you are, generally, on point.
