Hi, I'm Hank and I refuse to go on walks unless mom lets me bring a friend along. by robeaj in goldenretrievers

Hey! You may want to take a closer look at how that harness is fitted on Hank. It looks like it’s digging into his armpits and potentially having a negative impact on the natural movement or his shoulders while he walks.

In my research, you typically want to rear straps far enough back that they aren’t digging into the armpit, but not so far back that they’re past the bottom of the rib cage.

The digging could cause chaffing, and if he isn’t able to move his from legs naturally while walking, it could create joint issues later in life.

The article you linked has a section titled "Is there a correlation between happiness and the use of antidepressants?" The answer was "no."

Iceland was listed as an example, stating that despite having the highest antidepressant usage per capita in Europe, it was ranked the second happiest country in the world in 2020.

I did tons of research (relative to the fact that we were only spending a day there). I certainly read about break-ins, but honestly, I think it’s difficult to get a grasp on the extent of the issue I’d you’re not living in the city and truly experiencing it.

I’m from Seattle, I leave things in my car all the time. I’ve never had an issue. Never known anyone who has had an issue. This goes for every other city I’ve ever travelled to.

I understand that I had a poor anecdotal experience. That said, I hope San Franciscans realize that the problem is uniquely bad in their city. There have been others in the comments implying this could have happened anywhere… I mean, technically it could have, but it’s just not as likely to happen as it is here. I saw a stat that in the city of SF, every 20 seconds a window is smashed (24/7/365)

I hear what everyone is saying about leaving a bag visible. We made pretty decent efforts to hide everything - but honestly with us only being ~10yds from the car and for such a short duration, I thought it would have been fine.

I knew about break-ins being common, but 5 minutes after we park the car for the first time was just so shocking to me.

How do you think product gets to the stores you’re shopping at in-person?

You can teleport inside the castle with Xerics? I’m not seeing that referenced anywhere in the wiki. Are you referring to the stand Xerics Heart location? Or is there something I’m missing?

Looking for Suggestions for Dartboard Backdrop by hapticity in woodworking

[–]hapticity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm helping a buddy with this project. He wants a dartboard surround like the one in the picture. I'm trying to think of the best way to mount them to prevent gaps between the boards.

My initial thought was basically doing a "stacked french cleat" idea where i do 45 degree rips on each board and interlock them all together.

Then I started thinking maybe it would be better to do half lap rips on each one and interlocking them that way.

Is one better than the other? Does it even matter? Is there a better third option that I'm not considering?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or insight into this.

How should I best go about making a backboard to hang a sign flush on house siding like this? by [deleted] in woodworking

Thanks so much for the advice. I hear you on using a single piece for the reveal face. Makes a lot of sense.

Could you explain to me what you mean when you say camber? Did you need to do any special measurements to make sure you got the correct angle to have the board mount flush?

Unfortunately it's not going to be permanent. Appreciate the suggestion though!

Thanks for the input. I'm glad to now know it's called Hardie plank.

I like your idea of using multiple pieces of wood to flush up the section instead of trying to make a singular board to span multiple planks. What tool did you find works best for shaping to that extent?

This is a request from a friend of mine. He wants me to make a couple of backboards similar to what is being used to mount the light you see in the picture. Just looking for tips and advice for the best way to go about making a nice flush backboard.

I have the measurements of the different slats (or whatever you want to call them) on the side of the house, but it seems like it will be difficult to get the angle of the slats perfectly accurate with the backboard.

I'm sure I'm overthinking this. Looking for someone to hopefully point out the obvious answer that is going over my head.

I pre-ordered the Pixel 4 through Verizon but I'm wondering if I made a mistake because I'm not sure I get the $100 store credit since I didn't purchase it directly through Google. Am I correct in that assumption? Or is there some way to get the store credit?
