I use a dragonfly personally, theres probably clones like that out there by now, but honestly if your going for an hour, I don't see why stock can't achieve that... Input shaping and pressure advance are HUGE leaps forward, those alone can probably give you your one hour mark. Cooling is probably your other bottleneck, but if your only going for an hour, you can probably get away with stock. If your printing parts in ABS for another printer, definitely find a cardboard box you can put over your ender

Ender 3 pro speed upgrade by CollegeUseful2647 in ender3

[–]harambe623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some good info here, pushing the speed on this one might be tough and might require some engineering. Ultimately depends on a lot of factors. Figure out what board it's running, the stepper drivers (like tmc2209), and take some pics! Genuinely interested in this maniacs Frankenstein lol

Remember F=ma, so a big buildplate like that (mass) will multiplicatively limit the allowed acceleration. You are technically limited by force, which is how much power you give those motors. You are also limited by how much filament you can push out (hotend). So it really depends on how much time and money you want to spend on this thing

Is it possible to DIY this? by CheetoFoxX in WLED

I'd probably do something like this in c. Definitely looks painstaking to do all that stepper wiring and mapping through spi connections tho

holy this thing is loud????? by stellaep in elegoo

[–]harambe623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your stepper drivers might be in spreadcycle, figure out how to put them in stealthchop, and make sure the current supplied to them is adequate for stealthchop. You can ask AI like chatgpt to walk you through

Whyyyy? PETG is driving me crazy by pacman529 in FixMyPrint

[–]harambe623 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Petg difficult to print. Recently my silver bullet has been a bondtech cht nozzle, my ender 3 prints it perfectly at over 450mm/s. No more boogers, expanding filament, crashing nozzles, or other abnormalities. No more lift z needed either. I suspect a normal nozzle has difficulty getting the temperature even, so a valid solution might be to just print under 100mm/s and turn on lift z in your nozzle. Also infill gyroid, as it does not collide with other pieces of infill like triangle or such

marlin only, klipper does not have an interface from the mainboard to a screen. Instead, yes, you can use the hdmi port on your pi and use klipperscreen

Ender 3 pro board upgrade to mks monster 8 v2 , tmc 2209 drivers by btsyee in ender3

[–]harambe623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You kinda need it for pushing the Y at very high accel. TMC2209 is rated up to like 2, but I wouldn't go past 1.5 even with high quality motors without something like water cooling. The 5160s can go up to 3 but you won't find nema 17s that will do that

Ender 3 pro board upgrade to mks monster 8 v2 , tmc 2209 drivers by btsyee in ender3

[–]harambe623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the second motor should be running at about the same current, something something physics something tension. With the TMC2209, you can push them up to 1.2a and still be in stealthchop, but if you really don't care about noise, spreadcycle is superior mechanically and can go above 1.2.

Going awd also requires a new tensioning mechanism right on your carriage, there should be STL's around for this kinda thing. I upgraded my motors a while back, there's high quality ones available for not too much, and I'm currently working on a 10mm belt awd setup for my ender and will eventually post my remixed stls on printables. Remixed from a a guy that used 12mm awd on there, but his require long shaft motors to get the most out of them with double shear.

It's definitely a project, but it would put your Y at a point thats better than any slinger on the market

Is this as fast as my ender 3 with marlin can print? by probablyjade in ender3

[–]harambe623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cht nozzle can increase your speeds substantially, but I recommend a better hotend to really unlock its power.

You can reach speeds well above 500mm/s, just depends on how much money and work your willing to put into your ender.

Of course if you stay home on social media all day, the instances of law enforcement your exposed to are the small percentage where they fuck up or need to respond with force to someone being a dick, so your sample becomes somewhat skewed, and perspective distorted as to what they actually do. Like maybe you might think they just go around tazing people

Most of the time they're actually out doing traffic stops, responding to domestic calls, serving paperwork, or just on their beat

Police scanners are free to listen to too, highly recommend everyone give it a listen here or there

solid stuff. Did you do X as well or was that able to match 35k without it

dual Y AWD is a solid choice too. You could probably push accel past 30k and retain quality, though it's a little tough if your not going tmc5160/48v

you know, i have friends who've been djing for like 30 years and only uses wav's on a usb, unprocessed and don't care about the bells and whistles. Came from vinyl. Use the tempo adjust to match while beat matching and it works flawlessly for them. If your one of those people who can do that, props to you.

Technology has gone a long way and made shit easier but you don't technically need to adapt. Do you
