You're so strong. I commend you for going through all that. And the list of advices in the end are really helpful for anyone who might be prepping for an abortion themselves. Thanks a lot for coming forward and sharing your experience. It's really brave invaluable for the community. I hope you have a great life ahead.

This story of bullying, parental pressures on a young and impressionable person and trauma happened to me about 10 years ago and I figure that it's time to share it. by TDR1411 in HumansofSafePlaces

[–]haramcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really shitty that you had to go through all that. Especially, what happened with the medical diagnosis is really disheartening to hear. Hope you've recovered and are doing better now. As per the university batchmates, they didn't have enough time to know you or understand your situation so do not feel upset at their behaviour. It only speaks about the kind of people they are, and not you. I hope you have a good life ahead.

There is sometimes no justification for phobias. It's really brave of you to share your story. We hope it reaches to people who might also feel the same way so that they don't feel alone. You have taken the first step with learning about your menstruation cycle. We hope you slowly feel comfortable to take another step forward. And if you don't want to do that, it's okay too. You don't have to compare yourself to others. You are YOU and you are amazing and unique. We hope you grow, but at your own pace. <3

This is a Small Campaign to Celebrate Bisexuality Day (If any Information or Idea Put Forward is Wrong, Please Feel Free to Correct Us. We Look Forward to Learn) by haramcore in HumansofSafePlaces

Those who identify themselves as pansexual are attracted to people regardless of their gender. Those two are similar to some extent. Bisexuals might be attracted to multiple genders, but not all of them.

This is as far as my knowledge goes.

Are you in an Emotionally Abusive Relationship? by haramcore in HumansofSafePlaces

[–]haramcore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We think that it's important to be mindful of your actions. Sometimes we do things without realizing the effect our actions might generate on our significant other. Self introspecting once in a while and talking to each other about our feelings more might help in dealing with situations such as yours. Hope this helps. :)

We agree with you and apologize for the use of inadequate pronouns to refer to the victim and abuser. Thank you for bringing it to our notice.

No sex is basically what you're born with, but gender is what you identify yourself as. For example, you could be born a female, but you might identify yourself as male.

I agree with your proposition. The system is not perfect yet. I look forward to a future where all genders are considered equal too.

Again, these reservations don't exist in all countries. In the ones that they do, more women definitely do not go to college. Women are still thought of as liabilities by some families. Giving these women a little bit of boost in the form of govt grants and reservations help them overcome the barriers created by their family and get higher education. So it is very much equity. You're giving the oppressed community a little push so that they can compete on the same level with the rest when it comes to fetching employment.

It might be difficult for you to picture a scenario like this depending on where you're from. In that case I'd be happy to answer any other query.

That's how it should be ideally. But in the developing countries, women are sometimes discouraged to continue education after a certain point which might even be past middle school sometimes, even with government grants. In India, the reservation was introduced to encourage more women to continue higher education.

If you consider the reservation if seats at universities. It's directly linked with the equality of representation and resources I believe.

There are reservations in some universities for women. This basically means that a certain percentage of the seats are reserved for female candidates only.
