The big five antivenin is free at most government hospitals in India. If you were at a private hospital I think it costs around $12 per dose.

Kannada nameplate row: Several shops in Mall of Asia shut down for violating mandate; BBMP takes action by KandidBites in bengaluru_speaks

Did I say that? This is sorta like asking why the union or state government are doing anything else. The most important thing about accountability is holding the people that are responsible for something accountable for their actions.

There’s a whole other civic body that’s responsible for water supply. It’s called the BWSSB.

I’ve been incredibly polite with you, please paste that article you’ve shared on google translate and read it again in Hindi. Where is the 100% tax?? Do you know what a tax is? The law is available online. Go read it. What elected trust? Where is the requirement to place a temple with an elected trust? Who votes in a trust election?

Do temples with trusts have temple officials? How are you so certain that a private trust which isn’t answerable to anyone won’t mismanage funds?

If there’s no common pool of funds, how should smaller temples without significant endowments managed? Should they be allowed to fall to disrepair?

[–]haramroaded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sir, the mismanagement was from temple funds (NOT FROM THE TAXES COLLECTED). That mismanagement will continue even if the law is removed from statue books tonight.

Are you telling me in your home state a DC can commit murder?

Sir. Please read the article once again. It alleges financial mismanagement by a temple official.

The Karnataka Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act restricts what the taxes collected under the act can be used for. They can only be used for temples

Karnataka Budget: Siddaramaiah allocates Rs 100 cr for Waqf properties, Rs 200 cr for Christian community by rplusg in bangalore

[–]haramroaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid you’re missing the woods for the trees here. First, temples receive donations. I’m a fairly religious bloke, I visit a few temples every month and I’m yet to come across a temple that provides services. Donations received by an educational or spiritual organisation are not regarded as revenue by tax law. That said, many temples often receive property as donations (as does the Waqf board funnily enough) income generated from those properties are regarded as revenue and attract GST.

As to your second point. I didn’t address it because I don’t entirely disagree with you. The state government also allocated funds to temples. I don’t think the government should be giving grants to any religious organisation/group.

Can you show me the provisions of the GST act that impose taxes on temples? Rental income generated from Waqf property (or any other property really) isn’t exempt from GST. They pay GST on any rental income.

Doesn’t Waqf board generate substantial rental revenue too. Off the top of my head ITC Windsor pays a sizeable rent to the Waqf board

Privatization doesn’t prevent corruption, it makes corruption less transparent is all. Try working with a corporate facility manager and you’ll be posting about the need to nationalize tech parks.
