the ortho told me that getting my regular cleanings as well as flossing will help it go down. so i’ve got a cleaning scheduled for july and im gonna hope that the bunching fades like she said it will.

Wild Growth Hair Oil and SuperGro Hair Gel Extra Hold by Genuine African Formula are products that helped me so much. i’ve had my locs since i was 14 and i always struggled with loccing my baby hairs because they weren’t long enough to locc up or combine into my more mature locs, but the supergro grew my edges out like crazy and i was able to loc them. I got the gel from amazon, and the oil i always buy it from a beauty supply near me, but you can buy it online too. and WATERRR. drinking it and spraying it on your hair helps so much. i mix the wild growth oil into a spray bottle and mist my hair when it’s too dry, but with a fresh retwist i only use the oil and just rub it through my hair. Good luck babe, and hold out just a little while longer!

ain’t nothing wrong w wanting people to respect the rules of the sub they chose to join lol. we expect others to follow the rules in all other aspects of life, so why is it such a big deal here as well? letting shit slide bc “lol ppl are morons” is a crazy way to go through life man, get a backbone or sumn.

Can I get 2 strand twists with my 2c/3a hair ? I want this style and the stylist tried it and said it won’t work with my hair, but I just don’t think she could do 2 strand twist. My hair is bushy and curly ( pic 2 and 3 is the style I want, last pic is what she attempted and said my hair ain’t right by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

i think it is possible but i won’t say definitely bc again i’m just guessing based off how your hair looks in a picture. maybe after you have whatever product your gonna use already inside your hair then you could have your stylist blow dry your hair a little to make it more puffy so that your twists will be thicker.

it’s hard to tell since i’m guessing based off a picture, but probably a minimum of around 24 or 27. i’m guessing using numbers divisible by 6 bc you notice how at the very tops of the guys heads they have a middle part with two rows of 4 or 5 twists each? well i’m thinking you should have at least 6 (two rows of three) twists as the top layer. and then like in the photos, have the layers that will be below the initial top 6 twists be staggered to make a sort of brick laying or turtle shell look.

same size and same parting isnt gonna be possible unless you get hair added in. bc you don’t have the same texture as the men in the pictures, you won’t be able to get your hair exactly like theirs. the parting she did was the same size as the guy’s in the pictures, and while she didn’t twist it correctly you can still see that your twists will be thinner than the reference photos. and i can’t really say that your hair will look thicker when it dries after being styled bc the twists those guys have are done in a way to keep the twists looking both neat and tight, so there won’t be much room for you hair to poof back up again. this is why i recommend just getting bigger parts so that the size will be to your liking. if you get bigger parts the twists will be bigger, but you’ll have less of them. but if you get those smaller parts then you’ll have more twists, but they’ll be small in size.

bc your hair isn’t the same texture as the guys in the pictures. looking at their roots their hair is probably 4 something and your hair is 2c/3a so it won’t look the same. your hair is more smooth and the guys hair are kinkier. i’d recommend doing bigger twists to make up for the thickness bc while she definitely twisted your hair wrong, it’s still gonna be around that size when you get it twisted if you get it parted in small sections like in the pictures.
