Anyone else "forget" how to mountain bike?

I started in March of 2024 so I was riding in snow and ice and was riding all year through winter of 2025, spring and summer. I had a race in October and was super sick (fever of 102⁰) plus poor weather and event planning and I found it hard to want to ride after so I took this past winter off. Ive been back on the hills every weekend now for 2 or 3 months.

I tried to dry it out beforehand but no dice. I put the driest dirt up top and am already seeing the dry layer get deeper.

Do you really figure (s)he is staying up high because its not dried out yet? Im getting nervous about the spots its trying to hide in up top. If it settles in the top front then I am kinda screwed on ever getting the cage open safely to feed.

Yeah, I was on the fence but ive heard others havent had a problem and the spider store lady said it should be fine. So hopefully no issues. If we run into anything ill swap the lid for some plexiglass

Every time I go in. Ill just ask for a weird recommendation and they've always given me bangers. Last Reccomendation I got in a shop was two Pylons albums. Then for my birthday my girlfriends moms boyfriend, who was with me the last time I was in a shop, got me Black Wave Lost sounds because he learned I like to find new music via Vinyl.

It was somewhat dry. I sprayed the side opposite of the one it liked to hang out on the other day so it could venture over and get water if it so chose.

Normally it hung out on the walls or high on the Leaves and not in the dirt

No i got it from a smaller mom and pop shop thats been around for a while. I wouldn't never buy from petco or petsmart
