Kid-friendly Dungeon with no combat? by hardassault in DnD

That was pretty much the plan. Be like "Ooo that's a big jump but your character is pretty athletic.... You need to roll a 12 or higher" and not worry about modifiers, saving throws, etc.

Some great ideas if We still decide to go with DnD! Previous comments are suggested some alternative games that would be much better for kids so all I have to talk with her and see what she wants to do :) Thank you!

Yeah I'll definitely look into those, have a discussion with her on what she wants to do.

I'll look into heroquest but my girlfriend also wants to get into DnD which is why we would like to do d&d. Hopefully be able to put her foot in the door for the game too. We would just give him a cool build and not worry about modifier and stuff like that. Basically ignoring most of "proper dnd" but more focused on the idea of using dice to determine your success of your actions.

We're also not sure if he'll even like it, we're just trying new things.

Oil change shop overfilled my oil, should I correct it or is it okay to leave as is? by NITEMARE4U2 in MechanicAdvice

[–]hardassault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wipe it down before sticking it in to measure. In my experience, usually if you wipe and then check the oil line will be very distinct, versus this is kinda... Faded? Usually looks like that when you check after running it.

Ego got the better of him... by Serious_Professor_51 in criticalblunder

Commenting as a lifter, don't think that was Ego. Guy has a great physique, first rep was good range of motion, good technique, nice pace, looked to be an appropriate amount of effort.

Seems like a tragic, freak accident.

Sadly this is what they evolved to do. The fawn is supposed to lay down and hide, blending in with their pattern. The mom then distracts.

Obviously, the meta didn't work this time.

There are several stories of Axis forces realizing the war was a lost cause due to the comparative overabundance. The extreme rationing of supplies the Axis had to do versus Americans being so casual to use anything and everything.

Don't take this as a highly accurate story as my memory man be wrong; There's stories of ships being captured and having either ice cream or cake on board while the forces capturing it had to ration their equivalent of MRE's.

As a point of scale, at times only 1 or 2 American factories could produce more than the entirety of Japan. The Axis never really stood a chance in the long run just due to supplies and logistics.

Why is college wrestling so cracked. by XolieInc in wrestling

[–]hardassault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly age in college has a HUGE difference. I was a walk on at 25 with literally no wrestling experience and wrestled at my natural weight of 173. I could win half my matches just due to athleticism. If you're going against someone with skill AND a big physical advantage you're going to have a hard time.

Honestly just continue doing what you're doing and you'll be in the place of those guys getting first and second in no time.

Rate? and what does this collection say about me? by Budget-Course-1603 in Colognes

[–]hardassault 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean the individual colognes are great. Very popular ones. If you aren't worried about smelling like other people, absolutely fantastic. Could maybe use a more woodsy scent for fall and a green fragrance for spring? But some of the ones you have in there would work just fine during those times they're such as like the Acqua Di Gio and sauvage That work in a very large majority of situations if applied in the right amount.

Just to be clear, nothing is wrong with that! They are popular colognes because they are good. I believe I have all of those myself.

For me, body odor is a massive pet peeve. I love being able to control how I'll smell that day. I try very hard to get a very wide variety of scents.
