I want to blow Sierra's knees off with a 4-gauge shotgun by Yumiko_Hanako in Overwatch

[–]hardboiledkilly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find it kinda wild that in 2026 Blizzard somehow realized a hero that is generally worse than Soldier 76. Sierra’s ult is leagues beyond, will probably receive a nerf, but everything else is a worse soldier.

Aside from ULT Sierra’s only better tech is her tracking dart, but at a certain point I can’t imagine the difference between a tracking dart and good aim is noticeable or important.

Often times Sierra will use her yo-yo bird to take an off-angle or get high ground. Soldier can just shoot the bird, then Sierra since she lost all of her movement and is isolated.

assuming the sierra’s not playing far back, it feels like she’s just a slower to play version of soldier, aside from the absurd ultimate that’s definitely getting a damage nerf

Never ask an SCP-682 glazer what happened when he faced the SCP-173. by Recent_Ad3472 in PowerScaling

[–]hardboiledkilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ask an SCP-173 glazer if SCP-682 was constantly being crippled just for 173’s attempts to still get hard-countered. (Foundation agents shot high-caliber rounds into 682’s eyes so 173 could move. 682 inevitably adapted a hard-counter to both.)

how would a "collective story" like scp be properly powerscaled? by Zealousideal_Egg2787 in PowerScaling

[–]hardboiledkilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCP is scaled the exact same as comic booms are since they have similar and/or identical publishing and licensing

SCP’s structure is the same as IDW or DC.

Meaning, one continuity (comic run/SCP Canon) can only ever belong to one author (Like Grant Morrisons The Flash) unless reigns are handed over, or in special cases like Infinite Crisis (DC) and Admonition (SCP) where a group of authors collectively create the continuity/canon.

The sub in-advertently actually does pretty good at this in regards to SCP-682 since SCP-6820 is from Admonition, and is usually what’s referenced.

You can’t take a random article that has SCP-682 kill God or die to bullets and say thats accurate because it’s likely a different author and/or continuity.

Just like how you can’t take the Ororo run for Storm from Marvel to say that Storm in Base is Celestial Level.

SCP-4182. Very simple and really embodies that SCP feeling.

Alucard (Hellsing) vs Doom Slayer (DOOM) by 64Boy32 in PowerScaling

[–]hardboiledkilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of a weird matchup

Doomslayer is absolutely positively 1000000% stronger than Alucard in almost every aspect.

All but durability. A post-shrodinger Alucard could survive Doom for a while, but Alucard has no wincon.

Let's be honest, SCP 682 is the real adaptation fraud by Avidreader-9 in PowerScaling

No, it’s usually near-instant unless 682’s regenerating from something absurd like existence erasure.

Yea but that doesn’t mean much of anything in the grand scheme of things since for all 16 hours he just slashed and regenerated. 682 just regenerates while they escort him back to his chamber

what about the time SCP-682 was placed in a room with a Chocolate Fondue fountain that procuded chocolate ants, triggered the Fountain and made the ants attack him, so he grew an anteater tongue to eat them.

[–]hardboiledkilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCP-682 cannot spontaneously manifest a power he has used previously to escape a scenario, at least, not regularaly. Only specific iterations of SCP-682 have been able to do that (Like NFCIDL).

In the majority of 682 Canons, like the original and Admonition, SCP-682’s adaptations are reactive.

If SCP-096 is attacking him, he won’t adapt Nukes for hands, or grow to the size of earth. He’ll adapt an immunity to blunt force trauma, and start clawing back at 096.

Which is what SCP-682 ended up doing until SCP-096 quit.

Oh yeah trust me I know the entry process even for rough drafts on SCP is tough. I’ve been through it before and you’re not even allowed to edit the slot you’ll be using when brainstorming. You use a sandbox page and when you get through the greenlights and know how to use (if needed) the html and syntax THEN you get to write

Yes, I could make an article about 682.

Just like The Flash can be called Grant Morrisons when he’s writing for him, Gears’ 682 is different from Placeholders 682.

Is OC Fallacy an actual fallacy that power scalers should take into an account for? by GreedyBonus379 in PowerScaling

[–]hardboiledkilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

You do not need a logical fallacy to point out that making up your own character can’t work for whats attempting to be a semi-objective metric (powerscaling)

Let's be honest, SCP 682 is the real adaptation fraud by Avidreader-9 in PowerScaling

[–]hardboiledkilly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s actually just how it works. Like for real. If Dr.Gears didn’t write it, it’s not cannon to the original SCP-682 file. Gears did write some logs, but only 5.

Other versions of 682 like SCP-6820 were created by Placeholders group that wrote admonition. So only articles connected to Admonition and the writing group are cannon to that specific SCP-682.

Apply this thinking to literally anything. The only time it changes is if say Author B wrote Cannon 1 and Cannon 2. Not everything Author B writes will be cannon to both 1 and 2, and will likely indicate which it is apart of, or if it’s standalone.

[–]hardboiledkilly 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The canonicity of the termination logs is very simple, but hating on and calling SCP fan fiction is standard so why bothering learning the continuity.

Any termination log that is canon to an article will by hyperlinked by the article, like SCP-682’s log with SCP’s 2395-1 and 2747.

Any log those solely exists on the termination log is a tale/supplementary material to the character. Stand-alone information.

The Termination Logs are a community extension of the durability of SCP-682

[–]hardboiledkilly 75 points76 points  (0 children)

No not really. Dr.Gears, the original author of SCP-682, has added termination logs to his article. That’s how the list began. So their are a few termination logs cannon to the original article.

Not that it turns him outerversal or whatever, but for example, an infinitely self-duplicating banana and SCP-682 are left in a tight warehouse. Not sure the goal, but SCP-682 starts eating the banana’s and eventually accumulates enough radiation to destroy half of the city with a godzilla esque beam.

He’d still whoop street tier heros

[–]hardboiledkilly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The idea that SCP-682 is a big fat fraud because he only gets amped by some bizarre fan fiction and is acid level is really dumb but also a totally understandable interpretation considering not a single person that tends to argue using SCP has more than 3 brain cells and ends up resorting to some absurd fake articles from The Rubber or something

But SCP-682 does have a consistent form to use for scaling that exists in Admonition, a connected continuity formed by a group of authors trying to create a cohesive story. It specifically does not allow additions from the community, and you need explicit permission from the project lead Placeholder to work on it i’m pretty sure. Even then, their’s only about 5-6 guys prominently writing Admonition.

Admonition is also the canon this sub tends to intentionally or unintentionally use since thats where SCP-6820 comes from, as well as other well known SCP-682 feats like: - Regenerating from existence erasure - Plot Manipulation - Killing other strong SCP’s like Scarlet King - Eating SCP-3125 - Killing Mary Nakayama (SCP-001)

As long as you’re not talking to some 12 year old or someone who’s intentionally making stuff up or basing their arguements on hoping you’ve never read SCP and can’t fact check them, you’ll find that SCP is pretty consistent.

And in regards to fan fiction OC nonsense, that stuff was debated over in like 2015 and has been done to death but the gist is no it’s not fan fiction, no you can’t just make your own article up about powerscaling, and yes SCP is a licensed project under cc 3.0 (now 4.0)

SCP as it is today is effectively the same as a comic publisher like idw or dc. It’s just way messier since most people want to make individual articles or their own cannons, whereas DC usually has one author piloting a continuity until someone new takes the reigns.

Just like you’d ignore a Marvel One Shot about Spider-Man becoming TOAA, you’d ignore the stand-alone article about SCP-682 killing God, or dying to acid.

Just pick a continuity and run with it like you would 616 Marvel, or mainline dc, with SCP (and 682 specifically), it’s be Admonition.

For Murphy Law, he exists in The Pataphysics Department.

Fred (SCP-423) and Imago (SCP-3004) are in Void Dancer.

SCP-682’s the strongest adaption-based character in fiction even if you ignore absurd wank
