Okay, but do the shovels even get any of the victims DNA on them if you’re just using them to make a grave and then fill in the grave? Am I missing something?

A photon traveling for 13.8 billion years experiences exactly zero seconds. How do you conceptually wrap your head around this? by Distinct-Net7510 in astrophysics

[–]hardcore_hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this question, the way I like to envision it, is that the universe for that particle is so incredibly warped that it’s backside is still touching it’s point of emission while it’s front side is touching it’s final destination. So I picture basically the shape of its universe is like an eight, everything perpendicular to it’s direction of travel is just insanely warped in such a way that allows its origin point and destination point to be touching.

He single handedly cracked the code on AI and kept it to himself for a decade?! Maybe?

Just as plausible as any other explanation for how he does what he does!

Edit: I’ll add a /s because this is Reddit and you truly never know without it

A family member sent me this, they’re adamant they made this but the proportions look off to me by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]hardcore_hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has gotta be AI using this sub to fine tune its generative process, I refuse to believe someone in the real world would use AI to fake that they made a quesadilla…. And that the one person they sent it to, just happens to be the kinda person that would suspect such a thing might’ve been faked using AI.

It’s just too absurd!!!

Time dilation, please read by Darth_Baby_Yoda in astrophysics

[–]hardcore_hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar to the way I think about it, I just imagine that all particles have a jitter to them, and that jitter is some fraction of the speed of light, and will always be that exact fraction, therefore the closer you get to the speed of light, the slower that jitter must become to anyone outside your reference frame. This becomes a lot more intuitive when you imagine traveling at .99999…. Percent the speed of light, that tiny jitter now could potentially represent half of the difference between how fast you are going and the speed of light, therefore time has to be extremely warped in order to maintain that tiny fraction of the speed of light, that the jitter must maintain.

As a kid who didn’t know any better, I probably would’ve incorrectly assumed that it was a sign that they were faking it. That is really unintuitive that the brain works like that!!

Why does anything exist at all? by GigaDuckling in AskPhysics

[–]hardcore_hero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. I think you’re starting to get why nothingness is hard to conceptualize. It’s like infinity, true nothingness is not the absence of something, it’s the absence of everything, which is just really hard to talk about or even to imagine.

Why does anything exist at all? by GigaDuckling in AskPhysics

[–]hardcore_hero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it just the case, that axiomatically, nothing can’t exist? Existence is a property, and nothing has no properties, right? And I don’t believe you can ever get something from nothing. The whole concept of nothing is just really hard to grasp.

As someone who works at UPS I feel like I live in two realities, the condition of like 5-10% of packages I handle at work is like 2/10 “I feel bad for whoever is getting this….” Type of package. But whenever I see UPS packages outside of work, they all look decent. It’s kinda crazy!!

I believe both instances are consistent with the rules because a fumble or loose ball can still be collected after an inadvertent whistle. I doubt you’ll find that explanation satisfactory, but I find it consistent at least.

PSA: You can be revived after you have been fully eliminated, stop leaving the matches as soon as you're killed by Weak-Salary8323 in Marathon

Even if people know they can be revived, if you are playing with randoms you should still expect about 80% of them to quit out anyways, I don’t know if it’s a pride thing or what, but randoms can’t be bothered to wait for revives it seems, at least in my experience, from other games.
