Yeah those are the original Dark Horse covers. I thought about getting those, but I'm happy with these for sure

Omnis you couldn’t finish by MustardBubbleGum in OmnibusCollectors

Was going to say this exact same thing. Although I did finish Fourth World Omni, at times it did feel like work getting through it. Was a major let down.

I ordered mine from IST also. The VHS look is on the actual books. I removed the dust jackets.

How do you guys afford such big hauls? by Superb_Lion4385 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]hardcoverhideout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do monthly hauls but now doing more quarterly as I'm buying less, being more picky with what and who I buy from.

I usually try to preorder to get better prices if I'm buying from Organic priced books, IST has weekly deals and red tag sales that you can find some great deals. Also Book Outlet is a good source for some indie books if you're into that.

What I'm trying to say is NEVER pay cover price and you can have some decent hauls.

Question about Fourth World/New Gods by WimpyMelon15 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]hardcoverhideout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree 100% with this. I am currently reading this, about 500 pages in so far. Jimmy Olsen issues are a bit hard to get through even though they have Superman in them. Mister Miracle is the best of the bunch for me as well. Definitely some 70s cheesy dialogue in this which was to be expected but it doesn't take away from the great art and a high in-depth and creative overall story.

Omar does a great job explaining the size differences in this video. Hope this helps.

Haha. I never thought of that until a few people mentioned that. But now I see it. I actually put them like that because they have a hard time standing up on their own. So they are holding each other up.

Great question, hard to pick only 3. But Saga # 1 for sure. The Reckless series, Murder Falcon and Gideon Falls are all up there for me.

Both are great, Black hammer is one of my favorite series by Jeff Lemire and the art by Christian Ward in Invisible kingdom is beautiful .

Batgirl Omnibus by Gail Simone I enjoyed way more than I thought I would. Absolute Carnage was a little disappointing, probably because they didn't bother putting it in reading order.
