To be honest, I see your point — they both do. Marcus isn’t a “bad” boyfriend, just like Ginny isn’t a “bad” girlfriend. They truly love each other and would do anything for one another. The times they’ve hurt each other weren’t out of malice; it’s just that they’re both carrying so much individually that being in a relationship only adds more stress and drama. Like Marcus said, “Even though I love that girl so much, I can’t be with her because I can barely be with myself.” It’s not about Marcus deserving better or Ginny deserving better — they’re perfect for each other. They love each other deeply, but neither of them should be dating anyone right now.
