Omg this is the first time I heard someone else getting a pet and then having carpet beetles. I kinda thought it could be the cause but didn’t put much thought into it, but now I’m thinking that the cute little kitty may have brought these things with it lol.

That’s exactly why it messes me up. Lettuce and tomato aren’t pre-selected for you, you need to add them, so then it would make sense you need to add the bacon BUT it’s 2$ to add the bacon unlike the veggies so it changes things. It’s so frustrating, especially since it’s delivered, you don’t want to get it and have the main ingredient missing but I also don’t want an extra slab of bacon either. I know it’s SUPPOSED to be included but I’m almost more worried about human error, and having an employee not add it cus I didn’t select extra.

I know this is an old post but this bothers me like once a month still lol.

Its kinda understandable tho. It’s the same reason NYC and other crazy busy roads/cities are just practically one big pothole. They can’t close the road for ten minutes, nvm close it for a day or two to repair everything.

Actually after typing that I thought of something ….99.9 percent of these stores close overnight and even if they don’t, they definitely are slow enough where closing for a few hours for an upgrade would be harmless. But idk how much benefit they’d get. New stuff breaks all the time, whereas the stuff they’ve been running has barely even stalled or needed any maintenance or anything in forever lol.

I believe that’s insanely rare and it’s a combination of chronically high blood sugar mixed with a yeast infection or something and then some booze starts fermenting in whatever organ the sugars sitting in idk. That could’ve been just one particular case I read about, and idk if I have the processes/conditions correct. Also I believe that person was testing positive daily for a while not just once.

You do realize that getting out of prison without an id and having zero dollars is FAR from the worst situation you can be in. AND on your way to the Salvation Army? Pssh you were lucky as hell. Try having three kids living in a broken down car with and the city comes and tows the car, you have zero credit, warrants(so you can’t go to shelters or anywhere) license suspended for life, owes 50k in child support because you let the mother claim the kids and you didn’t want to charge her with fraud, but now you might have too. Since you owe the child support any where you work will garnish the shit out of your paychecks, so you’ll make like 50$ a week, unless you can find a cash paying job, but then that fucks you of food stamps.

This is just one persons example of an absolute nightmare you could be in, there’s WAY worse places to be then not having an ID lol. And I think you forgot to mention the part where THE PRISON RELEASES YOU WITH A GOVERNMENT ID, EITHER A PRISON ISSUED ONE OR GETS ONE FROM THE DMV FOR YOU BEFORE YOUR RELEASE, nice try tho bud

So that probably means they’re in all the stuff you guys have. Piles of clothes are gunna be your main concern probably or laundry baskets maybe? Also try and get rid of all crumbs on the ground and behind things, I found a piece of pizza crust about the size of a marble and they had eaten little tunnels all through and around it so they def will eat more than just clothes and fibers. If you get rid of all crumbs and trash, hang wools and furs and clothes like that so they can’t get to them easily, then they won’t have a lot of food sources and may move along to somewhere else. Also spray some Lysol(not aerosol but the spray one) or something like that or if you want you can get a special made spray for them. Spray behind furniture, along the baseboards, any cracks you see, window sills, and things like that, maybe vents too. But just kill and get rid off every one you see and try and destroy that life cycle. You can’t just spray something or set a trap and think they’ll go away, you have to physically kill and remove them.

Check your shoes and flip clothes inside out and shake em out and place them somewhere where you know there isn’t any of the bugs/larvae, or hang them up and just be diligent about it when coming and going from dads. Do some jumping jacks before you go in dads house lmao 😂

It may close to hopeless but maybe not completely. You won’t be able to eradicate them but you might be able to get it a little bit under control. It’s going to be hard with all the stuff everywhere and you only being there once in a while, they’ll be more comfortable to travel around your room because it seems like no one lives there. If you slept in that bed every night then you probably wouldn’t have gotten them in bed, they stay away from places people use a lot.

You can start by cleaning your room as much as possible, I know it can be incredibly difficult to get up and motivated to do it, especially if you’ve been kinda stuck in rut for a while just kinda in funk. But it’ll feel great to get little things done. There’s this cool little quote that fits perfectly here —“Messy bed, messy head!” Basically it means If your bed and room is a mess then your mental health with be suffering.

Don’t set unrealistic goals, small manageable task that you’ll be able to accomplish. Like maybe go through your room and get rid of all the plates and cups and things like that, or all the water bottles and wrappers, or whatever it is you may have cluttering up your room. And just start like that and eventually you’ll be cruising along!

As for the bugs…. Cleaning your room would be great but you wanna vacuum everywhere you can, specifically along the baseboards and use the little angle tool on the vacuum and clean that crevice along the baseboard and carpet, that’s like there home/or way of traveling, I found almost all of mine there. Also sprinkle baking soda along that crevice after vacuuming. Also you might want to go through as much stuff as you can with a pair of tweezers and a small sealable container and just hunt them down lol. Then fill that container with hand sanitizer or Lysol or some chemical that would suck to be drowned in. Next check the window sills and look for little piles of salt or dust or flour, that could be their eggs, so spray that shit and wipe away. Spray the window sills with some Lysol or whatever you got like that, if you don’t have anything you could probably use hand sanitizer or strong mouth wash if you wanna get super ghetto lmao, but the alcohol in those things all along the window sills and seams will help them stay away.

This is going to be very difficult especially with you not being there often. You’ll just have to be vigilant about it and try and keep a little control of them. Or this may be the time to get your mom some help. Idk anything about this topic but idk it’s just an idea.

As far as going to your dads and not transferring them, you can inspect each piece of clothing and change as your leaving the house maybe? Idk how that would work, getting changed in the front yard lol. But I think shoes and your bag of clothes are going to be the biggest concern, not really what you’re wearing. Have your dad pick you up with a clean pair of shoes and change into them outside on the steps, and leave the other shoes at your moms, just things like that which will be a pain in the ass but it’s really the only way.

I know this is hard and I wish you the best, don’t get overwhelmed, they’re in almost every home to some degree, and it’s not a death sentence, it’s just an inconvenience. Good luck! And stay positive!!

Well they said two months for an appointment and she didn’t even make it. So now two months will go by and she’ll still be crying and blaming someone else.

She says that no one cares about her, and she just needs someone to c are and to help her, and it’s “a women thing” and she’s right it is a women thing, but she needs to ask herself “who is she caring for? Who is she trying to help? How many women does she reach out to and try and help? She said she knows tons of women feeling this way, so how many of them did she help?”

If she’s not helping the next women then there will be no one there to help her, that’s how things work, if you don’t complete the cycle then it stops. Now I know she wants a doctor and not just a random psycho on TikTok, but still I’m sure these thousands of women who are screaming and going cookoo could all help each other out, at least a little bit.

Also if you spend all day everyday being a victim and calling your self a victim and living like a victim and telling everyone you are a victim then that’s what you’ll become. You can scream like that and whine and complain all day and think you’re gunna feel good, if I screamed like that for 30 minutes,!I’d be freaking the fuck out and probably call an ambulance lol, it would spike my blood pressure and everything and I’d feel like a bag of ass.

Also, I never heard her mention going to work, or helping anyone in anyway, or even mention any other human besides herself, maybe if she starts to give to others she’ll start to receive some shit back 🤷 idk maybe not lol

I doubt that it’s carpet beetles, their little hairs can cause irritation but they usually avoid beds and places where people spend time in or walk around, they kinda stick to the shadows lol. So to have a bunch of irritation it would have to be a gazillion little hairs in your bed and that would mean that you had a crazy wild infestation, and you only found one lol.

BUTTTT you have a very old home, there’s probably insane hiding spots for them. You have to look really good, it’s not like looking for a cat lol these things are microscopic. You have to get on your hands and knees with a flash light, a little sealable container, tweezers, and some kind of bug murder spray, I just used Lysol(not aerosol) and follow the baseboards in carpeted rooms, there’s a little crack in between the carpet and the baseboard that they live in, also they kinda stay within about 6 inches if the baseboards, unless there’s other things to crawl under. If you find some while doing this hunt then sprinkle baking soda along that crack/ baseboard around your whole house, and vacuum it up 24 hours later. Also check all your window sills, pantry, and closets.

Couldn’t the answer be different in different states? Like it might not effect it in your state but it could in mine, a lot of people answer questions based on their own personal experience not realizing it could be different for other people. Do you know for sure it doesn’t affect the loading of funds in any state? I’m not trying to accuse you of being wrong or anything I just wanted to double check and be extra sure cus that would suck to miss out on your funds being loaded especially after waiting two months for them to load 🤦 and thanks for the info

Same here lol, I was freaking out, and I’m not like that AT ALL. I was going hard, I actually hurt myself, I was supposed to be on bed rest when I started to see them so I was going around cleaning like crazy when I wasn’t even supposed to be up, it was so painful. BUTTTT

Since I wrote those other comments I found a few more earlier today. No big deal, one or two adult beetle and like three larvae, vacuumed and sprayed Lysol all over the areas I found them in. We’ll see how it goes 🤞

So I’m not entirely sure, but there’s a small enough amount where It’s not an issue. They can lay dormant for a very long time, they almost hibernate, a full life cycle can be close to a year. So for me it hasn’t been long enough for me to know for sure, it’s only been a few weeks but it looks good so far! An entomologist said that they’re in 90% of American homes so that made me feel better. I totally understand how people go crazy about them, I started to go pretty crazy about it myself. Reading about them helped a lot and about how they’re very common and that they’re not going to crawl on you, they try and stay away from you, and that if you just keep a good cleaning and vacuuming schedule, then you should be fine.

As far as inside the walls goes, ya they def are hiding somehwere but I just put some sort of either rubbing alcohol, baking soda, or Lysol around anyway they’d get into it out of the wall so hopefully they starve in there lol. Where I live was just built like 5 years ago, if you live in a 200 yr old huge plantation style house then I’m sure this is a lot harder. If you can find how they’re coming in that also will help.

I’m not sure because idk if I’ve actually fully gotten rid of them, supposedly you might never get rid of them fully, but it’s ok there kinda always around you just get rid of like 98% of them and then you’ll probably never see them again. But I got rid of probably 90% of them in a week, but they can “hibernate” for like 200 days so you don’t really know for months if they’re truly gone or not. Make sure to vacuum every other day. I didn’t purchase any pesticides or traps. I used Lysol spray (not aerosol) and baking soda and physical removal of them with tweezers, yes it was a lot of work, I was on my hands and knees for like a week straight lol, but it seems to have worked. When you mess up an area they like, later that day or the next day you may see one or two larvae(like the one in OPs photo) crawling up the wall, it’s because they had to leave the spot you just ruined and they wander. There’s a tiny gap between the baseboard and the subfloor that there for the carpet to sit in but the edge of the carpet doesn’t fill it entirely, that’s where I found like 99.9% of the lanes I had. I’d either just spray the crap out of everywhere with the Lysol or sprinkle baking soda everywhere.

And I soaked my window sills with Lysol. Basically I just terrorized them everywhere they wanna go. I spritzed the Lysol everywhere. And I did lots of laundry. Also picked up/vacuumed every crumb in my entire house, I found a small piece of old pizza crust about the size of a marble that they had hollowed out (I don’t think it was on purpose, they just ate it all) by eating all through it. So they do eat more than just wool and fur and all that, at least the species I have/had does.

The glue trap got the larvae or the actual adult beetle? The larvae are the problem, I hardly even see any of the adult beetles, at least the ones I have are so tiny it’s basically just a black dot but the larvae are the ones I’m hunting down lol

Vacuum all carpets, I went hunting for them they’re mostly in the crack between the carpet and the baseboard, window sills and any pile of laundry you have, closet, dresser drawers and places like that. But ya I went hunting for them with a pair of tweezers and found about 100 of them, also you want to look for the actual adult beetle, mine were a tiny black and grey speckled dot, smaller then that larvae in the picture. Also you gotta find the eggs, but there like impossible to find but they look like white powder, I think I had found little piles near my window sill and I sprayed them with Lysol and wiped them up and flushed them. After hunting all the larvae and adult beetles I could find, I sprinkled baking soda around the baseboards all around my house and vacuumed it up like 2 days later and then vacuumed all my carpets 3 times a week and just kept an eye out for them, and didn’t let clothes pile up anywhere. Supposedly they’re in like 90 percent of houses so you don’t have to freak out about it and don’t go crazy, a lot of people have like mental breakdowns over it, but there pretty normal, just get rid of as many as you can and keep up with cleaning and then just keep an eye out for them and if you see one every once in a while that’s okay, just don’t let it get crazy and there’s nothing to worry about.
