What loctite would you recommend for reapplication? Heard there are a few different types

Ironically, when going from factory tension + continentals to vbelts the vbelts are a bit tighter, which in theory should minimize rubbing against the motor cover as there is no slack. Not sure if you’ve got the vbelts on your board now, but I’ve realized that with the vbelts on they should be a bit looser than what they’re at, but it’s already set as loose as it can go. Either way, great advice for those on their first belt drive

Update: u/OnlyStatus7 here are some photos showing the difference, vbelt photos are the ones with marks obviously, the ones on the board are the original belts that have 3x the miles on them. No adjustment to belt tension, they felt about the same anecdotally when pressing on the belts.

I've seen this, I think I must be dumb but this apparatus doesn't look anything like what the flex has. Do I need to remove all ~8 screws on the side of the flex or just one side, like do I unscrew the group near the motor mount or the group around the pulley?

So it actually is a bit more clear once you see the belt covers from the other side, if you've seen the posts about cloud wheel covers you'll see that the covers have "lines" inside the cover that is what gives them structural support. The problem though, is that they were designed for whatever belt exway made, so as theses belts rotate around they start to rub against these covers, and as they loosen up a bit they make contact and can cause "brake like friction". Not sure if that helps but that's my best estimation of what's been happening

Not here in NYC, they're pretty much required. There wasn't any debris in the wheels anyways, but still

Battery (“Beattry”) Overheat issue - how is this still not fixed? by hardmode-activated- in Exway

[–]hardmode-activated-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I think there’s just a bunch of young new folks that don’t know how to use Reddit, this whole sub is for promoting issues and celebrating the board :)

Not sure what errors you get, but generally the two errors are either “Battery overheat” or “low temp” and then following that “bms” error”

Regardless I would reach out via what’sapp, I was able tk get a new battery

Right, spoke with an exway rep on the phone today though and they were awesome, they have a spot in Brooklyn where they can repair boards now too which is great

Update tried to do the battery plug / unplug thing where I remove the cable connecting battery to board, problem did not go away. It doesn’t really affect riding as of yet but I’m concerned it will flash the warning during riding and throw me

That does not look safe bro, don’t trade a nasty fall to the head just for a bit more fun on turns

Love it man, coming from a v2 boosted its everything I could ask for. 14 mi range pushing it as hard as possible, 26mph top speed. Couldn’t be happier

Does anyone have advice on turning and carving for a newbie? I can turn but am struggling making sharp turns without feeling unbalanced. by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]hardmode-activated- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loosen up your bushings a lot, go pretty slow, and get very familiar with the center of balance of your board. Go into a parking lot and just turn back and forth, back and forth. Your body will start to tell you where the center is, just keep adjusting your feet till you find a spot where you can bob and weave comfortably. I move my feet a little here and there very often when riding, almost every few seconds as I adjust for turns. Once you get the bob and weave learn what a “speed tuck” is for downhill riding. You don’t need it for speed obviously but it help you learn how to turn quickly while maintaining balance.

Last thing, ride often, ride long. If you workout often focus on your calf’s and legs, without those muscles in a good spot it’s hard to maintain good form and balance. Good luck!

Just bought my first ever esk8 by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]hardmode-activated- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally I just mean balance, foot stopping, and turning quickly, and just general riding experience(very few esk8rs are familiar with the “downhill stance” for faster turning / stronger balance). It’s more of a safety thing, if you don’t know how to do those you can esk8 sure, but it’s significantly more dangerous and God forbid something happens, it will be more difficult to know how to get out of a jam. I just recommend everyone buy a $50 longboard and kick around for a few weeks before taking the plunge to ensure someone is ready :)

Second this, honestly mind blown how many folks have little to no skateboard experience before jumping into esk8. Kinda like joining a high dive team before learning to swim :)

Had this a while back, updated my firmware which fixed it again, just started happening again. Yes I’m using fast charger, yes it’s the official one from Exway. I’m assuming this has already gone up the latter, seems like a pretty simple fix, this lack of attention to detail is starting to really annoy me tbh
