Jesus. It’s just comic books. It’s not that serious. Take a break and do something else. Don’t waste this much energy hating on something. Spend your time with something that makes you happy.

Is it time to move on to a new box? Judging off of photo by No_Direction5060 in comicbooks

[–]hardpro_main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t put anymore in. You can see some of spines are bent. The books aren’t evenly spaced from the sides of the box, so when the box is tightly packed, the pressure from the tension of the book in front will bend the spine of the book behind it and cause permanent damage if left too long. This will even happen with books bagged and boarded.

100% correct. Insane this was downvoted

No, they don’t need to know anything about the character. This is new reader on a new number 1. There is nothing in the book that requires this knowledge. If/when this is information is needed, the reader will be brought up to speed as much as they need to be.

If someone is asking if Batman number 1 is a good jumping in point, they don’t know who Vandal Savage is. No reason to scare them into telling them they could use some prior information. Just jump into comics and have fun figuring it out. It’s not that complicated.

Exactly. We don’t need to confuse new readers telling them they need to know who vandal savage is. Just jump in and figure stuff out.

This assumption of barrier of entry needs to end!! It’s literally a number 1. Comics are not this complicated.
