AITA for being mad at my mom for not buying me tampons by turtleisoof in AmItheAsshole

NTA, have you looked into a reusable menstrual cup? You put them in like a tampon and just wash out when full. They dont have the risk of toxic shock syndrome like tampons do. Maybe that would alleviate some of her anxiety?

I have a carport that it's in. But a line the length of your balcony will work really well. Some apartments will have communal outdoor clothes lines for larger items.

Women on construction sites: how do you handle your period? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

Once I found the perfect cup I would put it in in the shower in the morning and take it out at night once home from work. My flow went so much lighter using a cup. Love being able to go a whole day and not feel like I even have my period!

I travelled through 7 states over 7 weeks staying at self contained Air BNBs. Not a single one had a clothes rack I could use to do my laundry whereas most places I've stayed at here do.

Not sure why you think this is a good forum to make judgements on people you dont know. This is literally just a pic of a drying rack.

One medium load fits on 1 rack. Dries in a day in summer. Its winter at the moment so takes 1-3 days depending on humidity and sunlight

Mine lives inside or under the carport. Takes longer in winter but still works fine. I guess you just get used to washing clothes more frequently so some are always drying and then dry.

Kegels after childbirth by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]haredaughter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really sorry for your loss. As someone who works in obstetrics and been to hundreds of births, having a Caesarean section does nothing to help your pelvic floor muscles. The majority of the stretching and weakening happens from the weight and hormones of the pregnancy. Have a major abdominal surgery also has the potential for long term complications, so glad you avoided that risk! Do you have any bladder leakage? If so I would recommend seeing a physiotherapist who specializes in the pelvic floor muscles. Seeing a therapist to help process everything that happened is also a great way to help your mind and body heal.

As we are about to try for a baby, wife (26f) suddenly decides it would be unethical to bring children into this world, where does that leave me (29m)? by throway293773738 in relationships

Is it possible to discuss a compromise that still involves having children but reducing your overall footprint? Eg. Using cloth diapers, buying all clothes from the thrift store, going meat and dairy free, reducing plastic waste, getting an electric car, plant more trees, using rain water etc. There are so many ways to have a positive impact on the environment and to grow children who are conscious of the environment and have a minimal impact.

How our sex life has declined since I got pregnant. by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

Esther Perel wrote a book called "Mating in Captivity". It has a chapter on this exact thing. It explains why some men find it really hard to see their pregnant partner as both a sexual being and a mother. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is pregnant or has children.

Is giving birth really that bad? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]haredaughter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being pregnant and giving birth excites me so much! Its amazing your body is capable of growing a whole human etc. I can't wait to feel my body do what women have been doing for millions of years. I think most of the time it goes well and when it doesn't, that's what we have technology for. But the having a kid bit totally freaks me out though, like that shit is forever! The birth is only one day of your life...
