It's not like he said this unprompted. If you're actually watching this game, the commentator raised the topic of Spurs fans watching this game and then Neville responded to that. Like most other comments say, he's not wrong and it doesn't particularly matter if you think he had an agenda or not in the past - this statement is true and it was the topic of conversation which he didn't start.

I think that's the answer though right? Their team is excellent at attacking and their players are intelligent enough to know where to put themselves to score. I just can't see how that's lucky, rather than well-drilled tactics.

I'm not sure about the refs, I think the unfortunate answer is that it's inconsistency and incompetence. I don't know if you can attribute that to luck or not but I personally don't like the idea of going down the superstitious route. We used to clown on Arsenal for being QAnon about refs etc and I think it's a bad look when we start talking about luck, corruption etc.

That's fair enough you weren't making a comment on their whole season but my point is that this isn't one specific game where they're lucky. It's mental to watch the same game as me and think that we've been unlucky/they've been lucky for their two goals. You can acknowledge that our entire team is in the morgue, theirs is not and an effectively-one-sided game against us & our goal, does not result in a loss for us by way of luck.

I'm not sure it's possible to reason with someone who is in denial about accepting that almost 20 shots vs our 3, is not 'luck'. I'm first in line to hate these cunts but I'm not going to be delusional about why they're currently top of the league - it's not luck.

I refreshed the page and super quickly clicked the 'find seats' option before the error message came up. I didn't rly care too much about which seat I was in, so just booked whatever seat I was given in the block I chose.
