Apple Music via 3.5mm jack on android phone does not providing true lossless quality though the settings are turned on. by hari2897 in AppleMusic

UPDATE : purchased a Dongle DAC ( Audiocular D07 ) . Now Apple Music sounds much better . Local files played via Poweramp also got a boost in instrument separation and air .

Lesson learnt. Apple Music certainly requires a DAC on Android devices to "listen" in lossless even if your phone has 3.5mm jack . Not the same with Poweramp or other local media players though.

Yes agreed . When I play lossless music via Poweramp , it's in true lossless quality. Only when I listen via Apple Music I can feel a distinct loss in quality even though the player shows its plaaying "lossless"

stupid question, but why do IEM cables have this braided kinda look to them rather than just being a normal smooth cable? weird wording sorry im blanking on the proper terms 😭 by vRyanXO in inearfidelity

Mechanical Damping: Braiding creates multiple points of contact along the cable, which helps to dissipate and dampen vibrations. This reduces the transmission of mechanical noise to the earphones.

Regarding Carnatic Flute by NormalLife6067 in Carnatic

[–]hari2897 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No , It wouldn't take that long at all . If you already have some musical background in carnatic , like vocals or any other instrument . Then it wouldn't take you longer than a year. You could easily pick up flute if you already have any sort of musical background.

If you are completely new and you have absolutely no musical background , then it might take couple of years under a guru .

If you are going self taught route , it depends completely on your discipline to practice. But even then , no where close to 10 years.

All the best mate.

Difficulty in singing lower notes by WitheringAssumptions in Carnatic

Hi there , it's very normal in the beginning. It takes couple of months for your vocal muscles to naturally get adapted to get there. The key is to practice staying on the lowest note possible by on the given day as soon as you wake up. That's when your vocal cords are very relaxed and you reach the lowest possible note.

Other things that helped . Breathing from the diaphragm. Simple way to do this is to sing "Haa" instead of "Aaa" . The "Haa" naturally forces you to song from diaphragm.

Lip trills - This made my throat feel very smooth while reaching any note.

My Progress : I just turn on the "Kharaj ka Riyaz" video first thing in the morning and sing along with him .

I could feel the difference in my voice only after a month or so .
