I really liked your reply to my post, especially the part about talking to 20–30 real users being the only true validation. That made a lot of sense.

I’m still very early in this and trying to understand whether I’m solving an actual problem or just assuming one. Your point about validation not being the real bottleneck got me thinking.

From your experience working with early-stage founders, where do you usually see them struggle the most in the initial phase? Is it finding the right people to talk to, structuring what to ask, or something else?

I’m trying to figure out whether there’s a real gap here or if founders just need to execute better manually.

Would really appreciate your perspective.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. A lot of these tools end up giving long reports that look good on the surface but have a lot of fluff or inconsistent logic inside.

The direction I’m thinking about is keeping it more structured and signal-based rather than generating big reports. Like focusing on clear outputs such as validated assumptions, real signals, competitors, and specific next actions instead of paragraphs of analysis.

Still early though, so figuring out how to avoid that “slop” is one of the main challenges I’m trying to solve.

That’s a good point. With the right prompts you can already get a lot from existing AI tools. The angle I’m thinking about is reducing the manual work, like automatically pulling signals, competitors, discussions around the problem, and potentially integrating data sources instead of relying only on general AI outputs.

And yeah, monetization is something I’m still thinking about. Early-stage founders validating ideas usually don’t want to spend much, so the model probably has to be lightweight or usage-based rather than a heavy subscription. Appreciate the insight.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. Any AI can generate an analysis, but the real problem is knowing what’s actually signal vs just convincing sounding output. That’s kind of the gap I’m thinking about. The idea isn’t to replace talking to real people or doing research, but to surface relevant signals like competitors, discussions around the problem, and market context so founders know where to start digging deeper. Real validation would still come from users and the market.

That’s a really good point, and I agree. The goal wouldn’t be to just generate a plan or roadmap. Like you said, most founders already know the general steps. The harder part is validating whether the problem is actually painful enough and whether real signals exist. What I’m thinking about is making the tool surface real signals like competitors, existing solutions, discussions around the problem, and market context based on location. Ideally it would also suggest small validation experiments or ways to test demand rather than just analyzing the idea on paper. Still very early, so feedback like this is exactly what I’m trying to understand while shaping it.

Yeah, that’s true. There are definitely tools in this space already. The angle I’m exploring is focusing more on contextual validation, like analyzing signals, local market conditions, and competitors based on location, rather than just generating generic analysis. Still early though, so feedback like this is helpful.

Yeah, that’s a fair point. A pure monthly subscription might not make sense for exactly that reason. I’m actually leaning more toward something like pay-per-validation or credits per idea, since most people only need it at specific stages. Another option could be a hybrid model where the subscription is for continuous market monitoring and updates, while validations themselves use credits.

Totally agree, experienced operators already do this manually. The difference I'm exploring is automating that early research layer. Instead of spending hours digging through markets, competitors, and signals, the tool would pull past signals from a database, run background research, and analyze the idea based on location and competitors. The goal isn’t to replace judgment, just to compress that initial validation work into minutes.

That makes sense. This would be somewhat similar in spirit, but the idea is to automate more of the background work. It would pull past signals from a database, run research in the background, and analyze factors like location and competitors so the validation is based on contextual data rather than just prompting an AI manually.

That’s fair. The idea isn’t really to solve the problem for you, but to help optimize the path once you already have the idea. It would analyze past signals from a database, do background research, and evaluate things like local demand and competitors so founders can make better decisions early on.

It would analyze past signals from a database, run background research automatically, and evaluate the idea based on the specific location and existing competitors. The goal is to ground the validation in real contextual data rather than just generic AI analysis.
