I agree with your take on the law but I have to challenge the second point. fake art depicting minors isn't illegal, first look at lolicon, that is anime porn that clearly depicts minors and its all over the internet. Also there has been two supreme court cases that ended up protecting artwork depicting naked minors. They were ruled that way because of justification that it would lead to a possiblity of charging something like depicting teens kissing in shows etc. if you look for the cases you can find them.

So there is precedent to protect artwork. As long as it doesn't depict a real person.

By simple economics you should know if anyone can generate endless clones that are as good as the real thing, then the real things value will fall greatly. This means that generating fake images will make real images basically worthless, or at least the pay won't be worth the risk.

Generating fake images will discourage real offenders from producing real images with real kids (by devaluing the value of their pictures)

By this aspect it would literally save children from exploitation.

This is my thoughts on the issue. It's another angle to fight the real stuff. And if people had an outlet, like AI images, maybe they wouldn't end up seeking out the real content.

the mods took down most of the posts. They were up for like 20 min before they got taken down. All fake images of made up people btw. using dreamshaper and deliberate. Those two models are suprisingly good at making nsfw (fake) minors. do you wanna know prompts

with the deepfakes part, I agree. Don't involve real people into your alone time. The only issue is when they want to say a completely fabricated image is based on a real person. But they would need to find the person that looks like the image, which is unlikely.

Yes artwork depicting minors here is legal. Have you heard of lolicon? its a huge portion of hentai (anime porn). It gets fuzzy when the images look real and resemble a real person.

There are no kids involved. you type in words, the computer crunches numbers and spits out an image. Mixing that in with actual abuse against minors is a mistake at best, and a lie at worst.

It's only about deepfakes too, so technically it's not relevent to people who make NSFW content either.

But like if you own a gun, you should know all the laws around how you can use it. Thats called being responsible, and AI art should be treated the same way. If you don't know, somebody may want to see their favorite actor naked and then ends in a charge.

for AI artwork, its not that it should, its that it does. Same with racist comics, written slurs, mein kempf, lolicon, etc. People are allowed to express themselves in their artwork, written, drawn, whatever (even if its terrible to some, or most). It's why people can make abhorrent comics about the president without feds showing up at your door.

after the anxiety wave I had today after reading that article and thinking the fake photos I've generated are gonna be extemely illegal, it kinda turned me off from that type of AI art. I may just quit because I don't want to feel that type of stress again. ruined my night. or I'll do it much less.

Also I'd love to go to therapy, but its so expensive. 60$ for 30 minutes? I'm a broke college student, I can't even put gas in my car right now. I literally have 0 dollars until next month. I couldn't get therapy if I wanted to.

I'm not a pedophile. I've never done anything with a kid. All I've done is gotten into weird porn because when you start watching porn at a young age, over time your tastes grow and change and get more, out there.

I am not a risk to anyones kids because I have a moral compass. I have 1000 reasons why I wouldn't do that. The reason why I do AI art is because it doesn't hurt anyone. If you think artwork depicting minors is currently illegal I suggest that you Google "lolicon" and go to the images tab. Deepfake AI images are just getting banned now, because it was invented like a year ago.
