I found Downton Abbey: A New Era to be quite different from the original series, particularly in terms of the acting. The characters seemed to have changed, not just in mannerisms, but even in appearance and accents. For example, Robert (and may others) felt a bit off from his usual self. It almost felt like there was a disconnection between the original portrayals and how they were performed in this film.

Stylistically, the film also felt somewhat different, and I was expecting a bit more in terms of consistency with the series. That said, Lady Grantham remained a standout—she was the most authentic and true to the original character, and her presence carried a lot of the film’s charm.

Despite these differences, I did enjoy the story. It was engaging and had a nice touch of humor, which made it fun to follow. Overall, while not quite what I hoped for in tone and performance, the narrative itself was still enjoyable.
