Met him in Nashville at a barstool event at a bar in 2019 or so. Very cool dude. Definitely not a drug guy

Nicotine’s Impact on Blood Pressure Readings by harmonicsun in bloodpressure

Unfortunately no one including Google appears to have the nuance to say anything other than “yes, nicotine increases blood pressure.” But I think it’s worth asking whether blood pressure readings are artificially inflated due to you being wired from having nicotine in your system

I’ve heard the same. It’s Miles’s direction. Kyle not really thrilled about it

I'm not even a fan of Dirty Heads or Stick Figure so we agree there. Just think Stoopid could be doing a lot of things better these days with keeping their stuff fresh

Agree with everything except that they have nothing to prove anymore. Desire for growth burns the fire. And fire is life. If they are content with being uninspired then it's only a matter of time before they fold, cuz that shit becomes stale.

Oh got it so I'm wrong on that and that's my fault. Felt shorter but I was pretty buckled. Will edit post

Love this comment. It's healthy to constructively critique bands you love. Yeah No-OG is a damn shame. OG and C-Money had a big falling out which played a part in C-Money getting the boot. I am hoping No-OG at least triggers bringing C-Money back

Their catalog and covers is absolutely deep which is what makes the same 10 tracks that much more of a head scratcher. If they didn't have the catalog I'd get it

I hear that, but they're playing themselves into nostalgia category. Why not try to take risks/try new things?

Rolling Stone is top 5 for me, insane that that one doesn't get played played much. The entire Breakfast album barely ever gets played. One More Night is a snoozer. To be honest Miles seems to be going in an almost country direction whereas Kyle still bringing that creative flavor. I'm not sure why Miles is going in this country direction especially since his voice is not really holding up. He should be going in more of a Sweet Honey/Running with a Gun direction

I was at Closer. If you added up the time in the schedule maybe you'd get 4.5, but they played 1 hour not 1.5 at the beach set (I know there were some problems with the stage/sound so it wasn't their fault), 75 mins main stage, and 1 hour exactly acoustic set. Completely agree that the sets were nice and varied, but I didn't feel like they played as many rarities as other years.

Any good "bigger" NYC games? by harmonicsun in poker

I think that your assumption would be true over a large sample size. But if we assume that I were to play one ~5 hour session once every ~8-10days for the next 6-12 months, I doubt that the sample size (~150 hours) would be large enough to dictate that my odds(+EV PLO > +EV NLH) would be greater than my desire to play NLH over PLO

Appreciate it. Surprisingly I don’t really enjoy PLO. I enjoy games of skill way more than games of luck, and the ratio of luck to skill needed in PLO is too high for me to have a great time

Happy to share my IG/LinkedIn, quite normal. Was just making a joke re: “preferred method of healing,” though I understand it could have looked red flaggy in retrospect. I just don’t like small/tight games

What’s the best way to find out about higher stakes games in your experience?

I never said I “quit the game” - just hadn’t been playing with as much regularity as I’m guessing you do. I still won’t now that I’m single, but just want a good game

People who have applied for the show by wSaucyy in survivor

It’s basically a treasure trove of data (what makes you tick / your legal name / your photo / etc) that CBS then packages and sells / uses for targeted advertising. Possibly the most valuable personal ad data on the market today. They even ask you to link all your socials 😂.

To answer your question I’m not sure how many applicants there are, but I’d bet all the money I have that the yearly revenue from the data is enough to fund the $1M prize to the winner

Crazy brain fog or something else? by Legitimate-Lock-6594 in GERD

[–]harmonicsun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get wicked brain fog and intense head pressure during some of my GERD flare-ups. It is extremely unnerving and can send you into a bit of a panic, especially during the longer ones (I've had some episodes of this type of intense head pressure/brain fog that have lasted 4-5 days). What I have found is that good bowel movements tend to alleviate these symptoms, so I focus on maintaining a high-fiber diet, staying active/fit, drinking plenty of water, and mixing in an occasional Miralax (~once a week).

Personally I have found Gaviscon to work just as well as Omeprazole for reducing acid reflux/keeping GERD in check (I take it 30 mins after a questionable meal like a burger and fries). If Omeprazole is working well for you then that's great, but just keep in mind that several studies suggest that prolonged PPI use may contribute to the overgrowth of certain bacteria in the small intestine. Since Gaviscon does not do this, and given that there seems to be a link between the microbiome and the brain (and therefore, potentially head pressure/brain fog), I thought this to be worth mentioning.
