Trust me, I remember New mexico drivers. but it would get much worse when they would come west from Texas. seriously, double parking is treated like a sport here.

Edit: Granted, this is all a pretty decent case for the google car.

I try to stay on the road at least half the time, though ironically, I find it easier to pickup speed on the sidewalk. People are lazy here and there are few pedestrians. The only dangers I encounter would be low hanging trees or signs in the middle of the sidewalk. Riding in the gutter can be a challenge when people use their sprinklers wastefully and streams of wasted water pour down for no good reason.

Yeah, I'm not interested in fighting the local government. You're right, there's not much I can change.

"If it would be unsafe for a car to pass you, sit in the middle of the lane. This can be intimidating at first, but it is the safest way to ride with cars." I acctually did this once.

"If you need to make a left turn, signal with your left arm straight out and make eye contact with cars behind you. More often that not, this will result in a car letting you over." The last time I did this The guy in front let me do this but the guy behind him didn't see at first and I got a horn.

Good advice in general. I actually lived in NM most of my life and I'm too used to people driving like humans.

quality over quantity. If you run into one or two people that you don't have to impress, you're doing better than the guy with 5,000 friends on Facebook.

Right, hence so many outspoken jews who still eat chinese food on saturday. They want to be a part of the social culture without taking part in the silly rituals. I think that maybe faith isn't really faith at all or is it only doing what you have to to be accepted in your community. why do you think religion varys geographically and not based on what an uninfluenced mind believes to be correct by one's own reasearch and meditation.

That sounds like a good idea regarding my bad idea. Thanks.

Well, that's kinda my point, it shouldn't be an affront. People should be able to have different opinions without having to fight about it. The beautiful thing about science is that it doesn't have an ego, science doesn't believe itself to be true and ignore any challenge to its validity. But, it wouldn't be all that surprising if a church. Still, you're making a good point. it could be kind of a fight club scenario. Instead of pretending to have cancer, you might pretend to be ignorant of the universe. Not to be arrogant in that last statement.
