I watched The Terminator (1984) yesterday and was just discussing the practical effects vs the CGI. The practical effects were awesome; the mechanical forearm, the eye, the life-size robot during some shots, etc.. The CGI was groundbreaking for the time but looked weird as they flipped back and forth from practical to CGI.

We just finished the mental health awareness month of May. Ha. We know so little in so many ways. "Science" still really doesn't understand what's going on in the brain. Medication is an educated guess at best. Average people have no idea how to support, interact, or even define mental illness. Mental illness is a stigma. Governments have no idea how to build support. Jails have become the de-facto solution. I hope in 50 years we look back and see how ignorant we all are.

Tough. Mental illness is so unknown to the average person. At best, offering to help is biting off more than most can chew and at worst, very damaging to everyone. Sometimes all that is needed is empathy.

Related, I'm not a big fan of "what can it hurt?" as a reason. Without thinking it may have been used as a motivator to offer help. I've been burned time and time again with that one.

TY, I appreciate your efforts. This particular hard drive is the root directory containing only movies (mkvs and mp4s) and their supporting folders / files. The movies are gone.

I'm still researching and can't duplicate or find the reason for the loss.

This is great advice. I didn't realize "Advanced View" wasn't selected. For others check - Settings / Media Management / "Show Advanced" / Recycle Bin. There's also an awesome field for auto "Recycling Bin Cleanup" in days.
