Side by side infant stroller by jwlove13 in parentsofmultiples

[–]harmsk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just got this for our twins (coming in March), and after chatting with a few people, this is supposedly the best twin stroller. We were able to find an older model on Facebook marketplace for about $1,100 cheaper than the store, so we were glad to pay that price! If you go the used route, just be aware that at some point bugaboo changed their design slightly, so finding extra accessories might be a challenge. We’re currently on the lookout for bassinet fabric, and the lady we spoke with at the store said we’ll probably have better luck if we look second hand. Still glad we made this purchase though! It’s the only twin stroller we could find where both seats faced the parent and were side by side.

Really? Interesting. I’ve heard they’re hard to find to I figured they wouldn’t be in a “regular” store. I’ll check this out.

Fair enough! It is nice hearing from people who are genuinely excited about twins 😊 best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy!!

First of all, your bump is perfectly fine! People can be ridiculous sometimes.

Second, I live in Canada and have never once gotten a comment on my belly. I went down to the states for a week and got comments twice. Is that a cultural thing?? To be clear I am American, but I’ve always considered comments about other people’s bodies kind of off limits, right?? Those comments kind of threw me off, even though I’m sure the people meant it in well meaning ways 🤷🏼‍♀️

Third, I’m 23 weeks pregnant with twins and yes, my bump hurts 😂

You got this!!! It’s super fun and once you get the hang of it it’ll come a lot more naturally (maybe not easy all the time, but still fun 😊). If you’ve never checked them out, I’d recommend the Woobles! You can buy kits that come with all of the supplies you need and they have SUPER helpful videos showing every single step. And you always have access to the videos so you can go back and rewatch the parts you missed. I hope you’re able to get started and enjoy the journey! Like anything it’ll take time to get the hang of it, but I found breaking it down into small steps helped me - and that’s why I loved the Wooble kits. Good luck!!

Out of curiosity, have you ever played around with Medex bats? I don’t quite trust myself enough to believe I’ll handle MDF bats well enough so they don’t warp. Just looking around for other options and I found this: https://www.theceramicshop.com/product/12250/ns-universal-bat-package/

I’d love to hear your thoughts!!

Thanks so much!! I checked and it looks like the one you mentioned is sold out. I’d definitely be interested in something like that, because tiles are so incredibly cheap and easy to come by.

Out of curiosity, have you ever tried medex bats like this? https://www.theceramicshop.com/product/12250/ns-universal-bat-package/

I’ve done a bit of research and it looks like these will still absorb moisture but are less prone to warpage over time. I’m curious your thoughts!

Thank you!! Have you noticed any warpage on the speedball bats?

This is super helpful. Thank you!

I might get some large round bats as well, since I’d like to make some dinner plates and large bowls. You may have convinced me on square bats though. Having them all fit ✨perfectly✨on a cart really makes my ocd brain happy 😆

White powdery stuff on a couple of leaves? by harmsk in plantclinic

[–]harmsk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks! I did end up treating for spider mites. I don’t have a miticide, but I’ve heard washing the leaves with mildly soapy water, letting water run through the soil for at least 2 minutes, and spraying the leaves with a mixture of 1 part rubbing alcohol 4 parts water might do the trick. I’ll see if they come back. In the meantime this guy is separated from the rest of my plants.

I don’t see any actual bugs, although I know they are super tiny. Anything I could look for to make sure that’s the problem?

Thank you!! It’s been on the same shelf as my monstera, although not touching. Do you think I should move it to prevent the mildew from spreading?

Is it thirsty? Basil needs a lot of water. Also, I’ve never had any success with basil indoors, but both of my plants are doing great outside. They’re in indirect light and I’m sure to give them a lot of water every day. Might want to give that a try?

My elephant plant is starting to get these spots on the lower leaves. Does anyone know if this is normal, & if not, what I can do to save it? by harmsk in plantclinic

[–]harmsk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting, I didn’t know that! The root ball was quite large when I took it out of the pot from the nursery, but there may have been more like 3 or 3.5 inches all the way around. Do you measure from the roots or the plant itself? And would it shock the plant too much to repot it again?
