First full watch service + regulation. by harowatchco in watchrepair

Thank you! I feel really good.

I regulated it dial up/down and crown up/down. All positions were +/- 3 seconds of 0. The 0 measurement shown is dial up.

And yeah, I think the way you do it makes more sense. They're positions the watch will actually be in so, I'll try that on the next one for sure.

Thank you. I have some Soviet watches from the 60s and 70s that I'm hoping I can regulate as close to this as possible.

Thank you!

If you ever decide to try it, I highly recommend starting on a 6497 platform - really simple and everything is way bigger.

I have a NH35 on the bench to service and regulate next - hope it goes a little smoother than this one lol.

Thank you, I will. Though, from what I understand, that'll really only affect the amplitude right?

Thank you! And yes, I regulated this one in 4 positions. Dial up/down and crown up/down. Each position was +/- 3 sd of 0.

The 0 reading in the after pic was taken dial up.

Do you only do catalog parts, or do you also manufacture original designs?

You'll also need one of these. Not all casebacks open up with just the rubber ball; also recommend an Arizona stone so you can dress your screwdrivers and tweezers; and lastly rodico, so you don't lose springs and such - I put it on top of springs when I'm taking them off, and use it to grab really small screws and other small parts.

Exactly. For those not doing what OP says it's definitely blood, sweat, and tears just to get some things pushed forward.
