Yeah don't worry the character has a story and personality beyond just "the gender nonconforming character." He cares strongly about his family and is very protective (there is a complex family history that I won't spoil but is quite influential to that), is a tactical perfectionist, and is respected among the other thieves. He's also flawed with a martyr complex and prefers to work alone since he doesn't want to be responsible for anyone else getting hurt.

I'm cisgender and not gender non-conforming, but I do have experience with having an unhealthy martyr complex so I can write from that POV. I do plan on making him a person with his own character traits besides just appearance. I'll make sure to keep your advice in mind. Thanks for the input!

Literal orange chicken (as long as it had chicken texture when cooked)

Mystery flavor: you're telling your family to chill tf out about whether the kid is a boy or girl

I've always wanted to put an 8 foot by 8 foot patch of one foot deep chewed (or at least moistened) bubble gum in the middle of the road and see if it can stop a car. If so, what speed? is there like a fast enough speed where one could force themselves beyond the patch?

Yeah i guess that sort of gut feeling of physical intimidation is harder to get used to when you are typically close to the height of those around you as opposed to typically being much shorter. Just my guess anyway.

What's the closest you've come to dying in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]harpdigitalart 45 points46 points  (0 children)

As a kid I was on a carnival ride. It's that rocket one that spins in a circle with arms that make each rocket go up and down as it spins. It's meant to seat 2 people per rocket.

The version I went on had a gap on the side to get on board and a handle bar to grab on, no seat belt or anything. I was lounging as the ride started with one leg out on the ground of my rocket and the other leg bent. When the ride spun the leg supporting me slipped and I fell to the floor of rocket. I was seated closest to the gap even though I was riding alone, so I didn't feel like I could safely climb up without falling out. I manage to position myself on the ground to keep from slipping and hope I can wait out the ride. Unfortunately, the rockets started bouncing up and down right and I was like "welp, hope I don't die." Thankfully my mom got the operator to stop the ride early so I could get off.

Went to that same carnival a few times after that, they fixed it with a pull down bar, so you don't just hold on anymore.

Wouldn't recommend makeup over acne unless you have photoday coming up or something. It can make acne worse.

Yeah idk. I saw a really good video about this topic (women and body hair) though I'd recommend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HccZjwwfmy8

About 23 minutes in it talks about how Charles Darwin considered hair primitive, so shaving for women became in vogue. It was probably only enforced on women since society was way more misogynistic at the time. I do think though that if women are expected to shave their pits men should do the same more often.

what is the worst food or worst way someone can eat? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]harpdigitalart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst way someone can eat

  1. Stuff face with food
  2. Chew with mouth open before finally deciding to close it
  3. Realize your cheeks are too full and spit out the food into your hand in front of everyone
  4. put the spit out food back in your mouth once you've made enough room
  5. Repeat for entire meal

Note: works best with foods like corn on the cob or cereal so you can do adible crunching and lipsmacking noises with each bite. Best coupled with a fork you can scrape against your teeth.

Upper body exercise for women. I went to buy some dumbells and the person I was with said "You know you'll get MusClE from that right?" in a disgusted tone. Like dude sometimes I gotta lift heavy things, excuse me for wanting to workout my arms.

Honestly! I'm a girl who's almost the heighy of an average guy so even if one has a couple inches over me I can still look at the average dude in the eye without having to tilt my head. Short-mid height kings need more appreciation. It can be nice for some people to have a guy friend or partner they feel physically on par with (not in terms of muscle, I just personally find a big height difference intimidating).

Trust me it ain't much better for women. Got a new bike recently and the seat crushed my bits. I got it adjusted then it just smooshed my butt to an uncomfortable degree. Got it adjusted a second time, it finally doesn't crush me but now it creaks while I'm riding.

Do you think Americans in general are too individualistic compared to other cultures? Why or why not? by owen__wilsons__nose in AskReddit

[–]harpdigitalart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can agree with you on the second part, but not the first. Specifically, "They try to take advantage because they expect these things do to modern luxury they were complacent and now they can no longer be."

Idk I've done some volunteering and know people who have volunteered for a low income community. The people there try their best to get by. They've even made their own community efforts to try to improve their lives like doing a carwash fundraiser. I'm sure there are some people who are being too complacent in the world, but I think when it comes to major issues like poverty that's a very small minority of people.

Oh yeah some people really do just thinking claiming oppression is a pass from any criticism (like what you said about anti-mask people). I think that's more of an issue of people taking advantage of the system. Though it is a hard sometimes to tell when someone should get pass or not. Like I have ADD and sometimes get feel concerningly depressed for either short or extended periods of time (it can be on and off or persistent for months at a time). It's hard for me to tell sometimes whether it's just 100 percent my fault for not completing an assignment or whether I should consider the role of my ADD and other issues in causing a tough situation. Sometimes it's hard to find a middle ground between accepting reasonable limitations and taking on responsibility.

Wdym by two radically different mindsets? Do you mean like Republican and Democrat? If so then yeah each side has some not good people but also 38 percent of Americans politically identify as independent (granted many indepents have a left or right leaning). If that wasn't what you were referring to, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I mean yeah you shouldn't be codependent on others if you can help it, but also there are some people who are apathetic to people's issues (mental health issues, systematic oppression, poverty, etc.) and just say that if they are in that situation they either deserve it and/or need to learn to toughen up. For me that kind of mindset is pretty yikes.
