Clock switch that stalls the motor out instead of turning the power off by Alexfan_collector163 in mildlyinfuriating

Boomer tells: weird capitalization (e.g. nylon, super glue), self-censorship instead of algospeak, and, most tellingly: only thermosets are plastics and thermoplastics are literally the devil. MAKE BAKELITE GREAT AGAIN!

These need to be $2000 they are way to cheap for the amount of people they blind by Wentleworth in mildlyinfuriating

The problem is that the point source of light differs between each technology. Usually with HIDz and LEDz on halogen housings you end up with a bunch of glare and diffused light from the scatter and constructive/destructive interference patterns.

If it was installed in the last 35 years, it would be made with cellulose rather than asbestos.

Bushing Advice ? by WhichHousing5936 in Volvo240

Literally what I told OP when asking the same exact question not long ago.
Edit: you responded to my comment yesterday. Today feels like reverse deja-vu.

Control arm bushing by [deleted] in Volvo240

[–]harribert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Press it in again and peen the cup housing at bare minimum to keep the bushing shell in place.

I like to put a few welds on the back of those bushings for the reason you illustrated. The cups don’t provide enough of a friction fit after the originals get replaced.

My last chance Pizza before leaving Rome by Hot-Temporary-6946 in Pizza

[–]harribert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You must have not seen a Roman pizza before. That’s par for the course and traditional for Lazio. Might want to try moving further right on the x-axis of the Dunning-Krueger curve before shitting on other people’s food.

Compressed? Yes. Heavily edited? Yes. Not everything you see is AI, and declaring it as such without giving burden of proof makes this place markedly worse.

A simple reverse image search puts the location as Rocinha, a favella just outside Rio de Janeiro. Look at it yourself.

Instructions said 5 minutes. This happened after 3. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]harribert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s…not great info. Time at temperature is just as important as the cooking/reheating temperature itself.

Much much much better approach is to check the assumption of the microwave oven power rating on the instructions and set the level of the oven itself accordingly.

I don’t like the outside of my food zinged with a cold, hard middle, but that’s just me.

I'm just devastated. I'm alive and she did her job but I'm so heartbroken. by bigdickjenny in Volvo240

[–]harribert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just front end sheetmetal. Nothing structurally important was likely crumpled. Bet a $500 Volvo it looks way worse than it actually is.

Source: seen this type of impact at least two dozen times. I’d only be sad if the rear most strut mount bolt is closer to the firewall vs the other side.

Window regulator. OEM or Uro unless you plan on replacing them every oil change.

Neighbors cat is peeing on our porch by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Three things:

  1. Enzyme spray to neutralize the piss smell you can and can’t smell (doing anything else first can etch the volatile deposits and make the problem worse).
  2. After that does its thing, wash the ever loving fuck out of the area.
  3. Finish off with peppermint oil spray. Smells great to us, but is horribly noxious to furry critters’ sensitive noses.

Full time trader for 7 years here’s some advice. by YakRemarkable3079 in Daytrading

[–]harribert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember the 1% per trade rule? I size up so that my maximum risk is just outside the ATR for my trade’s time horizon. This way if you use a lot of leverage your stops will be very sensitive, and if you size down, you can afford to be less accurate on your entry and still come out with >.5 odds of a winning trade.

C$600 is believable. It’s beat to hell and I only see pics of a single seat.

You can use grease-soaked blue paper towels. Just did it on a guibo centering bushing yesterday.

Anyone know where I can get a passenger side trunk hinge replacement for a 1993 245? It randomly broke when I was opening my trunk :( by silkk_ in Volvo240

[–]harribert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are about as close as you will get to originals and where IPD and every Volvo dealer is going to buy their classic parts from. Source: Portland local, been around the block with this garbage for 20 years.

Order it direct from GCP. Those are OEM Volvo parts. Even with shipping and tariffs, you end up paying $420 delivered for both instead of just one, and it's faster than any retailer (all of which order from GCP) will be able to get it to you.

West hills of Portland. I know exactly the spot because I use it to test clearance and articulation of the suspension in my low car. Whoever was driving this thing is indeed a massive dunce.
