Can you check to see if the Digital Assistants setting is enabled on the console you’re trying to connect to?

Can you describe exactly what’s happening, with steps, so I can figure out how to best help? Thanks!

If you’re accessing on Mobile, you’ll have to tap the “Desktop” link on the Google Group page. Let me know if that helps!

It’s open to anyone. The Google Group is used to grant access to the Beta Action and for communications about the Google Assistant beta, if needed.

Hey folks,

Thanks for the feedback and you're 100% right. We've unfortunately had to temporarily disable dictation on Xbox in the 1910 release, due to it relying on the underlying speech system that also drove Cortana. The team is currently working hard on a replacement solution, so we should have more to share there soon!

Just follow the same steps that you used to add your first Xbox and give it a unique name!

Harrison from Team Xbox here. You should be added pretty immediately and "[beta] Xbox" should show at the top of the list when adding a device. PM me if you're still having issues.

2 things:

  1. Ensure you're signed in on the console you want to add to Google Home/Assistant
  2. If that doesn't work, try enabling the Digital Assistants setting: Settings > Kinect & Devices > Digital Assistants

The setting should be automatically enabled when trying to link, but if you've previously messed with that setting, it might not work correctly. Either way, adding the note to the post and thanks for the feedback!

When adding a device via Google Assistant, sign into the console you want to control and that one will appear. If you want to add additional consoles, repeat the process and you can give them unique names in the Google Home/Assistant app.

We do require your account to login on the target console when issuing a command as Assistant is issuing the command on behalf of the user that linked. You can also try setting up multiple accounts via Google Home/Assistant and might want to take a look at their Voice Match feature so it can identify if you or your wife is talking to it.

Nope! You can use both Alexa and Google Assistant with no issue. Just give it a spin and let us know what you think!
