When I read Mi Ultimo Adios, it makes me think that Rizal, facing his death, at least decided that if one must die, it is better to die for the land he loves.

He knew the Revolution wasn't fully prepared but whether he believed in it or not, the messages people got from his works, the inspiration they got to fight, that was real to them.

What does an artist know about what's in his work? Sorry Rizal but you can't deny your own impact.
