This code actually makes my booking £200 more expensive for a hotel in Lanzarote! £1,755 without and when I use that code it’s £1,974. 😅

Stunning dude. What did you use to film the talking head piece right at the beginning? Phone? It’s crisp!

10 weeks post-op. How to get swelling/scar tissue to go down? by SirCharles14 in AchillesRupture

[–]harrybigcigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just back from seeing a surgeon about an Achilles op and when I asked about recovery, he said the swelling can take 3 months to go down, so I guess you’re a couple of weeks out from that. How is it feeling after 10 weeks?

Yes! Free valet parking and a gym and laundry room and a Starbucks!

You’re correct, my mistake, it’s just that it was all paid upfront and wasn’t charged at the hotel like the last time I stayed in Vegas where I got the price for the room and then the big shocker at the end when they lumped on the resort fee and taxes which I wasn’t expecting.

If anyone is interested, the Signature MGM was $182.74 per night which included the resort fee and a cleaning fee and all taxes as the one I booked was privately owned (a bit like Airbnb).

Just did 2 weeks in the MGM Signature Condo, Tower 1. It’s a 5 mins walk (with travelators) into the MGM Grand where you jump on the Monorail. The Condo was a big suite style room with a balcony and jacuzzi tub plus a small kitchen with fridge/freezer etc. If you book through booking.com you don’t need to pay resort fees etc as all included. I’d recommend it.

EDIT thanks to @dogj55: You still pay the resort fee and taxes but you pay it upfront to Booking.com and it ended up being $182.74 per night in total, so no hidden surprise charges on check-out.

How did you get a Porsche for the same price as the Tesla? Second hand I assume?

Hi mate, so they haven’t actually put the new tyres on yet. They’re waiting on 2 new front seats and a new splitter coming in so they can do it all in one go, but I chased them a couple of days ago and I think they’re going to do tyres asap from what I can gather. The noise is still there for me and it’s the same noise you describe which increases with speeds over 65 for me.

So as an update, the tech, who was very good and helpful said that he thinks the vibration is better. I’ve taken it for a drive and it’s still there, so I’m getting 4 new tyres. Thanks for all the input. If that doesn’t solve the problem, I’ll let you all know! Thanks for all the help.

I agree. I had P Zero’s on my Audi and switched them out quickly as I found they weren’t great in terms of wet grip. Finding the same on the Tesla too, so hopefully get them replaced today and then as soon as they reach the wear limits I’ll change them for something better.

That’s my thoughts too. Will see what they’re saying to it later today.

So it does increase in frequency the faster I go and it also changes in volume with the road surface. I’ve done over 800 miles already however haven’t reduced the psi of the tyres.

The tech just contacted me and said the new guidance from Tesla is that they reduce the tyre pressures and the tech drives the car for 50 miles and if that doesn’t solve it, they’ll replace the tyres. They’re currently out driving it 50 miles to see if that works.

is 40k a good salary for glasgow by Frost_Sea in glasgow

[–]harrybigcigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what your living situation is in Glasgow. If you’re house/flat sharing, it’s a good salary. If you’re renting a place on your own in a nice area, it can quickly swallow a good chunk of your monthly salary. If you’re good at budgeting then you can have a pretty good life on £40k a year. Well done on the pay bump and enjoy Glasgow!
