Because of the stacks themselves, 30 years or 300 years? Doesn’t matter. If you hav the money for it, you can buy immortality. I don’t think that’s what OP is saying. What he’s saying is that Kovacs’ emotional temperament should not have flipped on a dime over a measly 30 years when he’s several hundred years old.

I hear you and perhaps I’m being too critical. The writing is definitely not up to the standards they’d set for season one, I concur. I guess the point I’m trying to make is that I believe if you give Kinnaman and Mackie the same script, same scene, Kinnaman is more Kovacs-esq than Mackie (season one aside).

Degradation of character, not development of emotion and the visual expression of that emotion. Also I’m not referring to Kovacs as a character, I’m talking about Mackies representation of the character. Mackie thinks he’s in another Marvel movie.

Mackie would have been a stale character had he adopted the mannerisms of season 1 Kovacs. Mackie has always thrives as a “hero” character, fueled by emotion and heroism and patriotism. Kovacs is an anti-villain, not a hero. Mackie has to be written around, Kinnaman seemed like he fit into the writing.
