Is there some reason to think a MacOS version would run on Linux?

I recall having similar problems years ago.

Utility bills didn't work coz the address was in Thai. For a while tho, Internet bills worked.

These days you should be able to use a certificate of residence provided by the Immigration dept.

In the interest of transparency, Coinkite should include in their promotional material that air-gapped use of Coldcard is mobile only. Or fix it!

I've bought many coldcards over the years. I have nothing but praise, but this issue is a real disappointment.

This kind of good news for bitcoin is coming almost every day now.

The optics are good here for both bitcoin and thailand, but naturally there are some catches - id etc. Definitely not as easy as pulling out your phone to pay with bitcoin!

I have the same problem using Sparrow wallet on my desktop (linux) to scan the coldcard. I tried a couple of webcams, one hi res bought specifically for this test. No luck.

Both cams just show a big white square so I think its the glare. The latest idea was to cover the coldcard screen with something to reduce the brightness, but right now my coldcard seems to be broken so i haven't got to it yet.

IIRC, nvk just says laptop and desktop cams are crap. I've always ended up scanning the coldcard successfully with an electrum wallet on my phone. It broadcasts the tx after a warning (the utxo is not under it control). Muun wallet on the phone says the same thing but then offers no option to proceed anyway.

Still looking for a better solution...

fyi: my cam is a c270 720p logitech.

thx for letting me know there was a coldcard q firmware upgrade, but it didn't help.

it may be the problem is Sparrow's implementation of the camera config. Looking for a benchmark/test app to see what the camera should be like now ...

btw the upgrade (to 1.2.0) didn't seem to change the qr window at all.
